I THINK it is the same but it has been a couple years since I have done any real modding. From what I remember though stuff like control arms and all that are the same but the springs have different rates or something. I'd double check though.

 

I am also looking at getting whiteline bumpsteer kit. With 245s, I need to get rid of the bumpsteer but I do want to upgrade the sturts later.

Also, is it easy to do the STI cartridges swap in the strut housings?

I would think that The wagons are different from the Sedans in the case of the lower arm bar because I know the sedans are a bit wider than the wagons. But then again, I have not modded my Subie in years. BTW I have a full JIC Magic Coilover Kit i'm about to remove from my 03 bugeye if you're interested.

 

^^^ If I'm remembering correctly, the rear struts are longer on the wagon.

 

my stock 04 STi sway bars and springs are still sitting in my buddies attic in AZ...let me know if you want 'em. I do have the stock brake pads up here for the STi brembos too, probly not much more than 3k miles on those too...at this point its all collecting dust.

^yah if you look at a sedan vs a wagon, the sedan does have a wider front track. STI struts are a great swap, but you will almost certainly end up with a suspension "clunk". Also, you'll need to add a shim to the struts in the rear to avoid a "saggy butt" as wagon springs are slightly long due to the extra weight in the rear. As far as going the cartridge route, koni inserts seem to be pretty popular paired with a nice set of springs....sorry no experience with bumpsteer kits tho...

 

Is it a true saggy butt though. I have swifts in there and I know that they like to have a flat lowered stance to aid in braking dips.

I hear ya on the Koni inserts.

 

Its noticeable with a straight swap, but since you already have Swifts its a non-issue. A Koni/Swift combo with a slightly larger RSB would be pretty much perfect IMO
