If we believe Auto Express these pictures are a preview of the new Audi R4 – the production version of the electric E-tron concept shown at the IAA last month. The R4 is likely to have several petrol-engined versions, positioned between the Audi R8 and the TT. The renderings come after the words from Audi of America’s president Johan de Nysschen who confirmed the release a production model of the E-tron last week.
Within the VW group brand new member Porsche will use the same chassis of “Mini R8″ – a new aluminium spaceframe set-up – for the next-gen Boxster and Cayman.
