We are getting very close to finalizing our new divers.

Here are some of the specs:

Movement: Sii NH35 automatic (Japan)
Finishing available in brushed/polished SS or charcoal PVD
Case available in both 40mm and 45mm sizes
300 Meters water resistance
Sapphire bezel insert with MDV lume and markings printed on back side for protection
60 click positive lock uni-directional rotating bezel
Solid 316L stainless steel
Sapphire crystal with clear AR coating
Will include a molded rubber strap and a 316L stainless steel bracelet (matching finish) with diver extension.
Matte finish dial with raised markers for high visibility in any condition
MDV technology with C3 grade A Super-Luminova and special blue glow lume (will glow blue and green in different sections)

In designing this watch we had in mind that we wanted this to be a perfect grab and go watch for any occasion. It will have some flash appeal with the sapphire bezel insert and mixed polished and brushed surfaces playing tricks with light reflection and will also be right at home for any rugged use and of course will perform naturally in a professional diving environment. There is a tactical yet refined look to this watch. We are very excited to get started on this production.

I like these Chris. Can you explain the bezel insert to me?
Thank you Sal! The bezel insert is a donut shaped sapphire with the underside printed like we print the top of the dials. The lume is layered on and the background is printed as well. The insert will be pressed on with nylon gaskets the same way the main sapphire is fitted.

Wow....I like it. Reminds me a tad of the Blancpain FF bezel, which i seriously like. Think you may have to pencil me in for a 45mm.

Not that I dont love your other watches, but this one is one i must have!!!

What type of straps are you going to have?
. . .

Looks very nice!

Can't wait to see a rendering of the lume pattern. Curious to see which parts are going to be lume'd blue and which parts green.

Any rough estimates on pricing for the 45mm PVD and SS version?
The lume renderings take some time so we normally do those when all other details are hashed out. These are pretty close now though. Pricing should be very close to our current 500M series. The 500M has thicker sapphire, thicker case (more water resistance) but these will have the sapphire bezel, include a bracelet, and have a larger movement so it will be close.

Sounds like it has a nice seiko relaible automatic movement as well. I love that you guys are okay with utilizing reliable and tried/true japanese movements to keep your pieces in an affordable entry level range.

well done!

My other question was regarding the movement: Why was the Sii NH35 chosen over the Miyota 9015 for this series?

Isn't the Miyota 9015 slightly smaller, thinner, and has a faster beat rate @ 28,800bph (4Hz) vs. 21,600bph (3Hz)?

This movement is chosen for its quality, reliability, accuracy, and availability. Its a 21,600 beat rate movement. We will likely do some 9015 models as well later but those movements are backordered until May 2013 so i doubt anyone wants to wait that long :) We used the NH25 previously and its been the most reliable movement we have ever used. In fact of the 950+ watches out there we built and sold with the NH25 movement we have had to service less than 10pcs. And most of those were from water damage by leaving the crown open under water and dropping to concrete. They are shockingly hard to damage in normal use! The NH35 is the same but adds hand-wind and hacking features so its the upgrade from the NH25. Our current 9015 supply will be used in the 3 upcoming V series models next year. I expect the 9015 will be a tank as well! They are built very nicely and very accurate. Both are great movements.

The NH35 is a great choice. The 9015 is really hot many brands want those especially since being cut off from ETA movements.
