The E9x M3s in general all sound like crap to me.....

Videos are definitely tricky to judge exhaust notes for the exact reasons you said, captured differently and played differently. The only true way to hear this exhaust, or any other, is in person. I'll be the first to say that it's not for everyone, (I work for the company...media side, not sales), but it does sound great in person. It is loud, much louder then most, but I don't think there's a whole lot of rasp to it. It also depends on what the exhaust is paired with. We do only cat-back... once people start adding test pipes and other stuff to it, it can drastically change the note as well. Not sure what's done to those ones besides exhaust.

-edit- Here's a video...doesn't sound anything like the first one IMO.

Videos are tough to judge because the sound is a little distorted when it is played through the many different speakers, especially if it is computer or even worse laptop speakers. But I have to agree with a lot of the people here that I don't really like the way it sounds. Sounds a little too "tinnie" (high pitched) for me and makes it sound cheap. The deep raspy tone fits the car better IMO

I'll pretty much guarantee I have one of the loudest E92 M3's. With the valves open it's completely un-muffled and straight through... 107 db revving in neutral and has to be well over 110 db under load.

Videos just don't do any of these systems justice, but ask anyone who's heard this one in person. Surely the loudest car on Gold Rush this year. ;)

camera car window is only partially open

First video...DAMN that downshifting sounds wild! I'm curious to see what our shop M3 db is.

That sounds like a lot of rasp, not much tone at all.

And drone sucks when you have to drive 5 hours at 75mph. Been there.

That's what makes mine so perfect. It's valvetronic, so when the valves are closed it's barely louder than stock with ZERO drone. Even with the valves open there's surprisingly little drone given how loud it is. The magnaflow system I had on before was way worse... horrible drone that drove me crazy.
