Well, I recently got an update from my local BMW dealer...
It appears that in SO CAL, the first F10 M5 may be here in July/August 2012

It is almost April 2012 and I still can't officially SPEC the car, according to BMW USA.

Anyone else in the USA receive any other info re: ORDERING the 2013 F10 M5?

Cheers...

They told me that they should be coming in sometime during July. Oh and orangetoro, the M5 you're getting technically is a 2012 model. Just saw that you have it listed as a 2013 on your sig.

He is from SoCal, which is in the United States so he will be getting a 2013 model. Only Canada & Europe are getting the 2012 model.

Guys in the US, you won't see the car until end of August or early September at the earliest. This is confirmed as far as I know because 2013 production will begin in July/August only. No chance of July delivery if you ask me.

March production with April/May delivery here in Canada. Got inside at the Toronto Autoshow and it is incredible.

Sounds like my local dealer is correct...
JULY production for AUG/SEPT Delivery as a MY2013.

Almost April...3 months before production...hope I can SPEC it soon.

Europe and Canada so lucky - already driving the F10 or soon to be driving the F10!

Thanks for everyone's input...

Stay away from the 2012. They're already talking about significant electronic upgrades for the 2013.

I believe it is too late at this point. What kind of upgrades? Let's see what the dealer says...calling him now!

I know somebody in Qatar got his delivered yesterday, no clue about the US though.

Dealer said no known changes to electronics from 2012 - 2013 models. Only change is the addition of CCBs option. Anyone else heard of this? Could not find anything online either.

My curiosity has been provoked

I quote:

Please note that BMW USA announced availability of the M5 Sedan in the U.S. market as a MY2013 as of July 2012 production. BMW Canada’s M5 production will follow the same model year schedule. Also note that there is a material change expected to the M5’s vehicle electronics as of July 2012 production. The change will not impact the output or performance of the M5. Additional details of the change will be available in the later part of Q2 2012. With the model year and vehicle electronic changes expected as of July 2012 production, please ensure your customers consider this information before placing an order between 03/12-06/12 production.

Just talked to my dealer. We originally had 5 coming into the city with all 5 sold. 4 out of those 5 people backed out so now because of the 2013 models coming in soon. He also said that a demo will be arriving mid-end of May and I have booked an one hour test drive with him. He has an Alpine White with the executive package and extended black leather available, which is what I wanted. The car is priced at $115+ GST (5%) but I'm going to try to work him down a bit and hopefully get a good price on the Aston. He is also unsure on what the changes will be with the 2013 model.

Thanks for the feedback. Apparently the car is on a ship and will be here middle of April.
