When you say producer, are you talking about the rug people, or do you mean movie producer? I originally thought you meant movie producer, but now am leaning toward the rug producers(owner I assume)? I visited some of factories in northern India in the '80's and it was awe inspiring what they do.

My wife and i have a new found respect/appreciation for the people who put their life into these threads we use as decoration for our silly rooms in our silly homes.

It was great talking with your uncle about his trip the other day.
Thank you for the wonderful photos!
Knick, I know you would love a trip to India. I got married there almost three years ago and some of my friends were nice enough to come for my wedding. I think to this day they feel it was one of the best experiences of their lives. I also brought my best friend from high school there back in the '90's and he still asks about going back. It is my second home, and I go there as often as possible. I'm a good tour guide if you guys ever want to go.

The producers all own factories. When you come to buy rugs they have guest houses for you to stay in, you have a personal driver to take you around to all different factory's to view rugs.

Nice rugs take anywhere from 6 months to 3+ years to make by hand in general(in India, not sure about other places).
