Default I have a 24 hour layover in Paris, France on Friday, the 17th.

I will be staying at the Hilton Paris Charles De Daulle Airport hotel. Due to the weather, I decided to cancel my dinner, river cruise, and Moulin Rouge package. What would you guys recommend doing? I plan on at least getting to Paris. I want to see a few sights, such as the Eiffel Tower, Mona Lisa, etc, etc. I also want to eat at a great, modern restaurant that isn't a tourist trap. I have been doing a bit of research myself, but want to feel out people on the forum that has actually "been there, done that".

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Wes

Buy your tickets in advance for the Eiffel tower and Louvre, if those two are in your plans. The lines in Paris are ridiculous (like 2-3 hours for the tower), and you dont want to waste too much time in line since you only have 24 hours. You can take the RER B train from the airport to get into downtown. Be sure to get fresh croissants in the morning for breakfast! Also, make sure to say bonjour/hello when you enter stores and shops - it's considered polite by the culture, and youll get much better reception from the shops.

We went last november and were all over the map with food. Several inexpensive places, and a couple 1 and 2-star michelins - food was excellent. Can you be more specific with what types of restaurants you're looking for?

Awesome, sound good. I want something somewhat fancy and modern; escargot, beef tartare, etc. No crazy dress code, as I am just bringing a few pairs of jeans and polos. However, I always try to dress presentable. The weather is going to determine if I even go into the city or not, haha. I may just relax at the hotel. That's why I'm not setting any plans in stone. If it were warm and all of the tours were in full force, I would have made all kinds of plans. Thanks for the reply!
