Just came across this on Hodinkee and figured I post it up seeing as I didn't see a thread on it. Another beautiful creation by MB&F. I know it's not a watch so it might not "technically" fit in this section but it's just too cool not to post.
I watched a documentary on the making of these type of music boxes. I was rather surprised to learn how much had to go into making one. It's certainly a beautiful piece of art but I don't think my Ipod needs to worry about losing it's place.
The MusicMachine is a music box that plays a total of six melodies, three on each barrel. One plays Star Wars, the Imperial March from Return of the Jedi, and the theme from Star Trek, while the other plays Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple, Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd, and Imagine by John Lennon. The former piston represents classic sci-fi themes, while the latter features the three songs most important to Büsser during the first 20 years of his life.
I'd buy the Pink Floyd, John Lennon and Deep Purple one. I like music, so 12k for something rare and cool would be well worth it. I just dont have 12k at the moment.
I am to, to be honest. I really like the company and what they try to do. Though it's not likely I'll ever own one, they're probably my favourite "indie" watch brand. Was hoping the megawind would be something more than what it turned out to be.
I have no affiliation with MB&F anymore, but remember that they never release the major new products during SIHH or Basel. New Machines always come in Q4. Personally I love the Music Machine and would love to have one.
