Following on from the incredible success of their initial launch with  Kickstarter , Hong Kong brand Lenvino is back with an entirely new offering.

Formed in 2017 by a group of dedicated watch addicts, the company managed to raise over HK$ 420,000 for its minimalist tourbillon watch and, in the process, became the most backed tourbillon project Kickstarter has yet achieved. Now they’re following up with Lecronos, a new watch concept inspired by vintage racing car speedometers.

With Lecronos, Lenvino cleverly combines traditional craftsmanship with vintage motor car racing and the result is timeless design with contemporary flair. Together with the minimalist style of the watch, Lenvino has managed to produce a clean, cool looking retro dial with a new and fun way to read time.

Every detail in this new racing watch is a nod to the most iconic features of classic sports cars. The vintage tachometer forms the dial design while the watch runs on a super trusty Seiko NH35A automatic watch movement with a 40-hour power reserve and accuracy of +/- 20 to 40 seconds a day.   To add to the authenticity, the watch comes on a racing style Italian calf leather or a 60s inspired Milanese strap.

Mastering the reading of the hours and minutes on the watch is quick and easy. Most people reading the time will look at the outer part of the watch and find the hour then the minutes. With the Lecronos, Lenvino decided to print the outer rim of the dial with hour markers, and the inner side with minutes. For further differentiation and for ease of legibility, the hands are highlighted in different colors (white for hours, red for minutes). Furthermore, to improve the motion of the dial, a disc was designed for indicating the seconds.

The name, “Lecronos” is inspired by the word “chronometer” meaning accuracy and precision. The 43mm watch is made of stainless steel case and protected with a domed sapphire crystal. The case back is screwed down and transparent, allowing for a view of the motor and balance wheel motion. It also features a printed pattern emulating a car’s wheel rim, in-keeping with the vintage race car design inspiration.

The Lecronos range comes in 6 color combinations, (three shown here) with the chance to choose the case and strap colors as the campaign concludes. Dial variations include dark grey and silver, black and silver, all black, dark grey and khaki and light grey and silver.

The strap system is interchangeable, featuring a range of racing style Italian calf leather straps (dark brown, navy blue, brown, black and grey) and Milanese straps (silver, black, khaki gold and rose gold).

Lenvino insists on using only the best components to build quality vintage-inspired, uniquely designed watches. Every watch is quality controlled, undergoing a technical control check, quality assurance check and a final quality check which involves a QC engineer rigorously testing all watches (e.g. water resistance and plating tests) prior to dispatch. All watches come with a 5-year warranty and are expected to be ready for shipment direct to customers by September 2018.
