In this exciting arena a new pair of limited edition watches will be launched: the BR-X1 RS16 and RS16 Tourbillon BR-X1. The watches owe their names to the RS 16, the new race car the Renault team for the 2016 season approaches in use, and will be sold only in selected Grand Prix.

BR-X1 RS16, THE TECH SPORT CHRONO

The Bell & Ross BR-X1 line is the extreme version of the iconic BR01. The BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Chronograph and the BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Tourbillon Chronograph are designed to withstand extreme tolerances; they are well armored and technical watches, housed in a 45mm multi-material cabinet. Through the use of materials such as titanium grade 5 and carbone forgé, a high-tech composite material, the BRX1 is a lightweight, yet incredibly strong watch that can withstand the extreme shock of motor racing.

Carbone Forge is a material which is obtained through a process where carbon fibers are compressed into a thermoset resin at a high temperature in a steel mold. The result is a non-porous, water-resistant one piece case with clean edges in a deep black, the color of the carbon fibers. The marbled look of each piece is unique, thanks to the arbitrary manner in which the carbon fibers are mixed. The matte finish minimizes reflection for better readability and gives the watch a softer touch.

The dial is made of gray-tinted sapphire crystal and studded with metal appliqué indexes, and photoluminescent inserts. There is a window through which the movement can be admired. The Superluminova filled hands and applique indexes ensure perfect readability. A rubber yellow belt is integrated to ensure a better grip when using the chronograph functions, with or without gloves.

As a reference to the color associated with Renault Sport’s official pallet and the field of race cars, both watches are decorated with yellow rubber inserts on the crown and push buttons.

The BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Chronograph is a high-tech chronograph with sporty, sophisticated design capable of measuring short time intervals. Its push buttons are made of high-tech ceramic with ergonomic yellow rubber inserts. The tachymeter scale, which is essential for the calculation of speeds, is placed on the dark gray ledge. To further improve the readability of the chronograph, hands are cast in yellow.

The BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Chronograph is a more high-end version with a major complication. Limited to 20 pieces, it combines the masculine codes of Bell & Ross and Renault Sport with the technical sophistication of Haute Horlogerie.

The Tourbillon Skeleton mono-pusher chronograph, developed with a column wheel movement, features centralized hours and minutes for a traditional display. The movement has a power reserve of 100 hours (4 days) with indicator at 9 o’clock. The watch also has a 30-minute counter at 10 o’clock and a 60-second counter at 2 o’clock for the chronograph functions.

The Tourbillon is located at 6am as the ultimate guarantee of precision. As a last detail the caseback is engraved with the Renault Sport F1 ™ Team logo.
