    Default Going to Italy!!!

My wife and I are headed to Italy tomorrow! We are going to Venice, Modena (visiting Ferrari, Lamborghini, and having dinner at Osteria Francesca), Florence, a small town outside of Sienna in Tuscany, and then finishing up in Rome. Any suggestions for eating, drinking, etc.?

Get a convertible and enjoy the scenery, weather permitting.
    Have fun!

While in Tuscany, try to swing San Gimignano. Easily one of my favorite stops outside of Florence. Never once been to Modena. Can't speak much for Venice, as I've never stayed long. Rome has so many great restaurants, outside of the tourist realm. La Pergola in Rome is unbelievable; $300-something (don't recall exactly) for a nine-course sample menu, but if you can make it happen, certainly do so. Enjoy yourself.

Enjoy the trip - and have fun at Osteria Francescana; ironically, my favorite bite there was their house-cured parma ham and prosciutto, even over the famous tortellini!

Make sure to hit up a winery while in Tuscany as well. We visited Castello di Verrazzano, they have an awesome wine tour and food pairing.

Too many to even list. I found the stretch of coast between Genoa and Portofino to be my favorite part of the country. Just serene, traditional, and beautiful.

So...back from Italy! What a trip! We started in Venice then to Modena, Florence, Tuscany, and then Rome. Just a few of the highlights....lunch at Osteria Francescana (once in a lifetime experience), Ferrari Museum (somewhat disappointing), Wine tour at Castello di Verrazzano, cooking classes in Tuscany, plus all the art and history in Florence and Rome! Well over 1,000 pics so if you are interested in seeing any of them just let me know. Caio!

Florence is definitely one of my favorite cities in Italy. If you can do the night tour, do it, it includes a great dinner and drinks.

Don't know how flex your plans are but if you can make it to Lake Como check it out. Definite must in my book.

I know this is an old thread... but seriously? If you're going to pretend like you are cultured after making one trip to Italy, please spell the word correctly.
