Default Finally booked our Honeymoon. Anyone ever been to St. Marteen?

Finally booked our Honeymoon, we are going to spend 9 days in St. Marteen. Flying into NYC the day after the wedding and then we leave the next morning into SXM.

We are staying in a Villa at a resort called La Semanna. Mrs. Crane's cousin is a Travel Agent and she got us a tremendous deal at this place. Looking forward to hanging out and relaxing for a few days.

Anyone ever been here? Any advice for a simple midwestern lad?

St. Maarten is beautiful. The beaches..shopping..site seeing..I have never stayed for longer than a day but I have been traveling there at least twice a year for the past 18 years on cruises.

Here's a few pictures from my recent trip in January to Orient Beach.

Grab a jet ski on Orient Beach for an hour and explore..the surroundings are truly amazing!

Yes St. Maarten is great. if you're there for that long, I'd highly recommend renting a car and exploring both sides of the island. But bullion is right on, Orient Beach is the best beach on the island if you want to be around other people. Lots of activities to do on OB. If not, there are plenty of other white beaches where you can just be by yourselves.

Looks amazing, I can't wait to get there. Our resort said they have Jet Ski's we can rent right from them. We will definately be doing that.

It can't be August soon enough

The resort is arranging all of the transportation to and from the airport and they have luxury vehicles to rent. I think they set us up with a Defender for the week, but I am not sure.

Good, sounds like you are all set. You may want to consider a flight to St. Barths. Can be done as a day trip. Definitely worth it.

Good idea to check out both the French and Dutch sides of the island.

Wife and I spent the first 2 nights of our honeymoon at La Semanna. It was great. The resort really welcomed us. The room was great and there was a basket with champagne and some goodies in the room for us compliments of the hotel. We spent the first day in the spa, and the beach. Honestly, we were so exhausted from the whole wedding extravaganza that it took us a few days to really unwind and relax, so we didn't venture off the property or out of the room much during our stay. I'm sure you will love it.
