This week's edition of Would You Rather is an Italian-English showdown featuring two mid-engine, supercar thoroughbreds, the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 675LT. Both cars mark the pinnacle of each company's mid-range lineup and both are powered by a new generation of relatively small-displacement, turbocharged V8s.

Both are also fast enough to warp the space-time continuum and are sure to turn heads wherever they're driven. Let's get started.

LOOKS: The 488 GTB has received some flack for not looking quite as fetching as its predecessor, the 458 Italia, but we don't see it. We're loving the F1-inspired nose and dramatic, scalloped side intakes.

LOOKS: The 675LT is basically a meaner take on the 650S, with a few new carbon fiber aerodynamic enhancements, including a longer rear wing. The P1-inspired nose was challenging at first, but we've since come around.

LOOKS: This wasn't easy, but Ferrari definitely hasn't forgotten how to make beautiful cars.

ACCELERATION: The Ferrari 488 GTB's twin-turbo, 3.9-liter V8 produces 661 hp. That's even more than the legendary Enzo, and it translates to a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.

ACCELERATION: Like all modern McLarens, the 675 LT is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8, which in this state of tune produces 666 hp (hold the Satan jokes, please). The sprint to 60 mph takes just 2.8 seconds, and like the Ferrari, it tops out at 205 mph.

ACCELERATION: Even though both cars have almost identical curb weights and power outputs, the Macca is able to eek out an extra 0.2 seconds in the 0-60.

INTERIOR: The Ferrari's interior exudes purposeful performance. Like an F1 car, just about every function can be controlled via the steering wheel.

INTERIOR: In true McLaren style, the 675LT's interior is austere, yet very modern. We even hear initial problems with the IRIS infotainment system have been ironed out.

INTERIOR: If you're paying over $250,000 for a car, you should get a flamboyant interior to match. Point: Ferrari.

USABILITY: Modern Ferraris are as good at devouring racetracks as they are at going to the grocery store (as long as you don't buy too many groceries), the 488 GTB is no different.

USABILITY: McLaren's ProActive hydraulic suspension system allows the 675LT to pull off a neat trick. With the press of a button, it's transformed from hardcore track car to something that rides even smoother than a Rolls Royce.

USABILITY: It's been around for a few years now, but McLaren keeps improving on its innovative suspension system.
