I started experimenting this summer with some out of the ordinary grilling--Mostly to work on my culinary skills. Of course the wife is all too willing to cooperate since that means she doesn't have to cook. Anyone else grilling outside of the box? Show your skills.

Prawns seasoned with minced garlic, sea salt, and cracked pepper, Zuccini and Squash.

Eggplant marinated in honey, pepper flakes, Kikkoman soy sauce, and Oregano.

Looks good!

I've got a regular grill, but also like to use my Big Green Egg. Game changer, if you don't have one.

Yes, they're CostCo burgers. They have great meats, except for their skirt steaks which are tough. We go to Mariano's for those.

Not a fan of thick burgers like that personally.

I prefer a thinner burger for a few reasons;

1) More surface area, which has a few benefits.
-It allows for a better Malliard reaction, an essential key to a great burger.
-The increased surface area also allows for a larger amount of the burger to be seasoned, thus a more flavorful burger.
2) Faster cook times

These were a little thicker than usual, but I understand where you're coming from. From where do you source your meats? I feel a little limited because unless I make my own, I'm down to Marianos and CostCo for burgers and both tend to prepare fairly thick burgers.

Also I'm sorry if I came off as "insulting" or condescending. It was just a good opportunity for me to voice my opinion on thicks haha.

We do get steaks at Costco but they tend to be somewhat hit-or-miss as far as the quality of the cuts. However, we only get our burgers from my local Roundy's grocery store. They have an independent meat department, . and we get them fresh from the meat counter- "Gourmet Pub Burgers" and they're great. We won't buy burgers from anywhere else except for a butcher.
