What turbo's do you have? stock or modified

I'm trying to figure out my next move and the easiest thing to do seems to be the K24/18g mod since I already have stock K 24's. I'm not sure if that makes sense though, I'm looking for a big power gain and I'm afraid this upgrade won't be enough. If I go to anything like GT 30's or similar I'm afraid I will be in the shop more often and the car will be less reliable? I just like to get in my car and drive with no worries about mechanical issues so I'm trying to figure out where the performance and reliability are maintained. My car was making 525 hp at the wheels before I added DV's and 1 bar WG's new clutch with LWFW and cold air intake. I haven't hit the dyno since but I want to asap to get some numbers.

Well, I may not be any help here. But "if" I had a 996 turbo and "if" I were gonna mod it big, I'd go with the AWE 700R kit or the Vivid Racing VF750 kit (Vivid is also a sponsor and I think they are doing some insane deals right now)

Vivid Racing VR750 Garrett/Tial GT2860rs Turbo Kit Porsche 996TT 01-05
Yea I know Dan and their kits are pretty crazy, I'm just looking for some real world experience of these setups and how reliable it will be. It doesn't have to be bullet proof but I would like to be on the road and out of the shop as much as possible.
Ask markski...
Good Idea Ray thanks, he definitely knows how to make crazy power!
the tials are nice. make tons of power with those but you need a lot to make them work.

Yea I need to make up my mind on how much power I want this car to make and if I want to take it to the max level on the stock block. I'm surprised there weren't more responses  I figured some people with real world experience would post. I'm also entertaining the idea of going to RWD to lose some weight in the front and pick up a little power. My man John Nouri has been doing research on this for me and he likes the Tials also with a custom tune of course. Broadway Performance will be doing the work as they do all of my stuff.

its lots of work doing stuff inside the engine. i think you can make like 600 on stock block
TheVenom, thank you bro, I got your pm and I'll get in touch with you soon. Right now I think I have my mind made up on what I'm doing I just need to get some real world advice but I will be meeting up with a guy who has a very similar set up this weekend so it's going to be nice to drive it 1st and see if I'm happy with it. I'm slowly realizing that I will never have enough power until my car scares me.
what are the largest turbos run on modern (996/7) porsches?

i see some of these 996/7 tt based motors that are pushing 12-1500 hp and i wonder what turbos they use. especially with space being limited
i'd personally do 700-750 w/ built motor - if you're truly making 525whp, you're near the upper limits of the stock block.

building motor costs $15k, if that, then find the kit you want. come spring, you'll be ready to rumble.
