I am fond of things manufactured/produced during my birth year, and I am currently looking for a Patek Philippe Nautilus "JUMBO" 3700/11 (steel, interested in all levels of condition, from well worn to pristine) manufactured in 1987. Aside from this particular hunt, I would also be interested in a listing or database of the watches made by the larger swiss houses in '87.

Your thoughts and input are very appreciated. Below is a 3700/1 w/ the discerning factor between it and the 3700/11 being a slightly thinner bracelet (have yet to find a picture of a steel 3700/11):

The 3700 is a rare one. Just out of curiosity, what makes you like the particular piece?
First and foremost, I am attracted to what I consider to be a timeless design (pun!). Penned by the esteemed Gerald Genta, and produced by the finest manufacturer of haute horology (IMO), what's not to love? Lately, I have been increasingly interested in finding and purchasing items created the same year I was. With the ability to rebuild and overhaul fine watches when necessary for many years to come, it is foreseeable that a well cared for '87 timepiece could last a lifetime. At this time, I believe the 3700/11 to be that watch. The Royal Oak also fits the bill, Genta design with a great brand behind it.

Jason, are there any books you suggest on PP or AP? I know there is a wealth of knowledge on TZ, but with the archaic search system that site employs, a well written book seems much less daunting..
