It doesn't make any sense to compare commercial flight travel to private flight travel, whether on economic or experience terms... Only the biggest companies - fortune 100/200 size could ever justify on the economics, as usage is high, speed and flexibility is important, and the people traveling on them are really highly paid... Anyone else isn't making the decision to fly private (card or ownership) based on economics, but based solely on convenience, privacy, etc...

Our company has 2 planes and a flight department with 15ish people and we had to get a net jet contract to cover overflow when planes weren't available, and used 150ish hrs on it last year... They get used a lot, and are an asset, making it really easy to justify the cost of ownership...

We bought a card to use outside of the company planes, and determined it's about lifestyle not economics... The analysis we did was on a card for the Ultra XLS and another on a Sovereign... It was cheaper to fly the entire family 8-10 people first class, round-trip, for every trip than the card...

Planes been listed for a few months and I always say to myself "I hope a deal like this comes around again" if im ever in the position to buy a jet.
Any reason its priced so low? It just doesn't make sense to me then again I know nothing private jets.
Not too bad for an older plane. Avionics and the cabin have been kept up-to-date.
I personally want a Learjet 35 or 36 someday.

I am not expert, but Looks like both engines are due for an overhaul. That, factored in with maintenance, in the first year you will likely spend $1-2 Million on this aircraft. Not including all the legal fees of setup and pilot, crew, storage, etc. Fuel burn is also incredibly high on these aircraft. On the + side, looks like all the work on this bird was done by Duncan Aviation, one of the best in the biz.

Sounds about right. When I bought my twin-engine prop plane (Piper Seneca), it was going for less than 1/2 of what's on the market. I ended up putting in close to twice the purchase price to get it to flying condition. It was all priced in though when I decided on that particular plane so it was not a surprise.

What I ended up with after everything was said and done was a plane with 125 hr engines SMOH and props with 0 hr SMOH. The same plane would be worth about exactly what I had in it or slightly less. The difference is I got to choose my own interior, avionics, etc.

pretty crazy, right now VistaJet (Private Jet Charter | Private Jet | Jet Charter | Air Charter | Learjet Charter | Luxury Aviation | Private Jet Partnership | Private Jet Ownership | Executive Jet Charter from VistaJet) is absolutely crushing the Charter game because they guarantee a new aircraft, with a new, well styled cabin, expert crew (including flight attendants on every flight), premium catering, and access to almost anywhere in the world. As a result I heard they charge like $12-$13k+ an hour (starting price) for their charters. Crazy thing is they can barely keep up with demand, and if you think about it, it's still worth it. When you consider having all of those amenities on your own plane, costs add up REAL quick.
