What do you guys think of this?

This is the Steinhart Marine Chronometer.

I know that Stowa, Archimede, and many other brands make similarly styled watches at very different price points.

I've always liked the Stowa version because of its history but I find the Stowa's case just too small and too light for my liking (same for Archimedes). Not to mention that the price is also double of the Steinhart and it usually takes over a month to get their products!

So it appears that this Steinhart is a great contender... I currently own one of their Pilot watches and man it feels solid and substantial on the wrist.

What do you think?

Love the look. Nice choice
Looks really good.real classy
Looks great. Post pics and a review if you decide to get it.
Go for it man. Steinhart makes solid watches for the price point.
Can't get much more for $480. I kinda like the look of this Marine with the antiqued look.

I'm going to say negatron el capitan

I do not know of their build quality but Steinhart is like Invicta in that they do not have any of their own designs. They blatantly copy many well known styles and to me that doesn't deserve my business.

I'm going to have to strongly disagree... aside from their GMT model which is a blatant copy of the GMT-IIc, all their other styles give homage to historical models, such as their pilot watches and the marine. Just because IWC or Stowa have them and the history to back it up, it doesn't mean Steinhart is copying their style - they are simply using a certain style from watch history, which is quite different from copying styles from other brands like Invicta does. Just my humble opinion.
