Yup, its another one of "those" threads....

I have come to the conclusion I won't be truely happy with ANY car, espically in FL where there are no turns or mountain roads so I want something that won't depreciate and is either unique or highly desireable. Price has to be under 100k and this will be my daily driver/only car for at least 6mo.

Options I'm considering:

-05 Gallardo 90-100k
-72 280se benz 12-18k
-10 GTR 68-72k
-e46 M3 20-25k
-03 RS6 22-24k
-07-08 S550 32-36k
-09-11 750i/740i 46-50k
-08-09 Z06 45-50k

Not considering e92 m3's, c63s, isf, cts v or m5/m6, any old school american cars, QPs.

Not really looking for "ok, I have 100k to spent on a car whats the best I can get" since I want to spend zero $ on a car and will likely be just as happy with a 30k as a 100k.

What are some unique cars for like 25k, 50k, 75k and 100k?
I just want something that isn't a do it all car, either full blown luxury or performance really thats why I dont want an M5

I've been thinking about buying a new ducati or mv agusta as well so I'll have the speed part covered there.

That's what I'm wondering. Either he's nuts or he made a lot of bad investments.

04-05 MT 6 speed, no question about it. Best sounding V10 of the late model Gallardo's, solidly reliable, never gets boring to drive, seks on wheels.

The problem is a lot of where I live. I haven't gone around a corner once in florida so I can't enjoy anything for its sporting ability.

I just got back from driving a semi local 280se but it wasnt clean enough for me but is exactally what i'm looking for.

I've decided to buy this Mercedes-Benz : 200-Series 280 SEL 4.5 in Mercedes-Benz | eBay Motors
Unless there is a glaring issue with it I see it only needing 1-2k in wood/dash/some leather restoring to be perfect.

I'd like to get someone on here to go and check it out for me if anyone lives around the Marina Del Ray CA area. I can of course cover any fuel costs and your time.

I think this and a 1199 or f4 bike will bring me motoring happieness for now. I can allways buy a gt3 or ferrari in a few months in addition to this so I'll give this a shot and see how things turn out.

Mr ETZ, I think the 1m is under appreciated (and talked about) but way over priced, they will keep pulling 20k over sticker for a long time to come.

On one hand you say the Ferrari 355/360 is a poor man's 430/458....yet on that basis, that Benz is, quite simply, a poor man's car.
What makes the 355/360 a poor mans car is because anyone who isn't a full of shit liar would take a 430/458/599/cali anyday over it.

The benz is a timeless classic that was the pinnacle of a luxury sedan at the time, not an entry level ferrari like the 355/360. Most people looking at a benz of that era would NOT take an s430 or s550 over it where as 90% of people looking at 355's and 360s are looking at them because they WANT a 430/458 but are only making 100k/yr

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think I could ever go from driving a Bentley and Maserati to a old car. I like Mercedes and can see if you wanted to add that car to your collection but I would never give up the cars you have for it.

IMO it would be tough to go from your current collection to an old Mercedes. Also if this is going to be your only car I would question going with an exotic. Stick with the Raptor and have fun on your sport bike, saves you from looking. Also if material things don't make you happy anymore then what good is a new material item?

Having an extra 200k in my bank for security/retirement.

I've never had anything but the newest, best, fanciest things and think a classic car would be a relaxing change of pace while freeing up some money.

My dad is all over the nobles, I drove a rossion and thought it was a pos so don't think id like the noble.

Because I get stuck in the "only $____ more and I can get a _____"

Thats how I talked myself out of an m6 and went with the bentley and out of a zr1, gtr or new m3 and into the GT-S.

If I spent 100k on a nice 63 vette Id say well for that much I can get a 997 GT3RS or for just a little more a gallardo/f430.

I figure I need to come back down to earth with a 20k car for a few months and see where im at.

What I REALLY want is the lime rock park edt loaded m3 at a local dealer for 84k. But I will lose at least 30k when the new m3 comes out next yr and Ill have to have one of those.

Stay focused on what you really want. If you really want the Corvette at the end of the day, put your blinders on and buy one. Don't ask the 4 what we think you should buy, you know what your heart really wants. Fallow your heart and you'll find happiness. Stop looking at all the shiny objects and focus on the target. I think this is partly why you are unhappy with the stuff you've bought in the past, you haven't fallowed what your heart wants and it seems like that's a 1963 split window Sting Ray Corvette.

This is what I plan on getting in the near future. Examples can be had for very reasonable prices (of course replicas but who cares). Something fun to play around in on the weekends, would be a great cruiser car.

Any thread about "what should I buy" are complete wastes. Just fun to see what people would get.
