What Car Should I Buy? (Huge Spread in price range)

Yup, its another one of "those" threads....

I have come to the conclusion I won't be truely happy with ANY car, espically in FL where there are no turns or mountain roads so I want something that won't depreciate and is either unique or highly desireable. Price has to be under 100k and this will be my daily driver/only car for at least 6mo.

Options I'm considering:

-05 Gallardo 90-100k
-72 280se benz 12-18k
-10 GTR 68-72k
-e46 M3 20-25k
-03 RS6 22-24k
-07-08 S550 32-36k
-09-11 750i/740i 46-50k
-08-09 Z06 45-50k

Not considering e92 m3's, c63s, isf, cts v or m5/m6, any old school american cars, QPs.

Not really looking for "ok, I have 100k to spent on a car whats the best I can get" since I want to spend zero $ on a car and will likely be just as happy with a 30k as a 100k.

What are some unique cars for like 25k, 50k, 75k and 100k?
I just want something that isn't a do it all car, either full blown luxury or performance really thats why I dont want an M5

I've been thinking about buying a new ducati or mv agusta as well so I'll have the speed part covered there.

Everything on that list depreciates so I don't know what you're smoking. If you want a modern car, get used to the fact that the value is going to depreciate. There are very few modern cars that don't, and most of them cost a LOT. The Ford GT and R34 GT-R are probably the two recent cars that hold their value pretty well for less than $200k. The FGT's value is going up though.

You also put a wide range of vehicles in that list. I think you need to figure out what you really want in a car, especially considering the cars you are trying to sell. Time to sort out your priorities buddy. Who in their right mind would sell a Bentley and want to own a BMW instead?!? Crack has not been helping you.

I guess I should have clarified about the depreciation.... i'm not going to take a 60k hit like I would on the s550 or 750i. Also the m3 goes from 80 to 40-50 in 2yrs when the new ones hit.

All the cars I listed wont lose more than 5-10k in the next yr (or 5-10k total in the next 3 when I sell it), not 20k a yr.

*edit, the evora S is a great car. I spent a good amount of time in them on the tracks up north but Im not sure how one would be outside of one?

I think you need to find a car that you will fall in love with and not sell. Buying a car, playing around with it for a couple of years and then selling it is costly and IMO stupid. 2 or 3 years of fun with a sports car at the cost of 5 to 15% of its value when you bought it is nuts. That's like going to Vegas and dropping $10K on a single number in Roulette, except you were drunk and gave it all to the dealer as a gift.

Of course, it's your money, blow it however you want. I just see the game of buying sports cars and selling them a few years later is a stupid way to manage your money. You might as well lease the vehicle for a year or two.

They both hold their resale values like champs, the CLK63 AMG Black Series is rare so resale value isn't going to go down much and the e39 M5 is already at rock bottom with pricing so it can't go any lower. These cars (in my personal opinion) are the ultimate "foot on the ground, smile on your face" cars under $100k

Well I don't have enzo money or the ability to buy a 458 and let it depreciate to 150k in 5yrs and lose 25k a yr on it.
I won't be happy with anything less so i'm just trying to pick something that I won't hate or frustrate me. Having raced professionaly I'm very critical about performance so its easier for me to be happy with a luxury/vintage kind of car.

Dad had an e39 m5 and I fucking HATED it. It had some major flaws that made it completely undriveable to me.
I do like the black series a LOT and they are priced right, very exclusive and reliable. Id have to drive one for a day or two to make a decision on one. I think it might not let me do the driving is my concern. Even with tc and stability off it will "think" for me

Honestly, the CLK is going to be the best car you can pick up for under $100k, this thing is a pure drivers car, you don't even have to try to go sideways because it's so fvcking easy in that car. I say test drive one, like it, pick it up. Black out the roof, get new wheels or powder coat the OEMs and have a hell of a good time

Then buy a well sorted F355, NSX, R34 GT-R, V8 Vantage, old Viper, etc. I think you get the picture. These cars have depreciated almost as far as they can and are amazing vehicles. Mod the fvck out of some of them, fix the small problems one of them has in your opinion and enjoy it. The F355 is perhaps the best sounding V8 Ferrari out there for regular use, when it is properly cared for. By now, most of the problems with this car are well known and already taken care of. They sound amazing with an aftermarket exhaust. The one main drawback to this car is the engine out cambelt service every 15K miles.

NSX is an open diff and won't consider one and sticking a unit in it or doing mods to anything other than the typical intake/exh/tune.

I wanted and dreamed of a testarossa based solesly on it being my dream car and I went to buy one a few weeks ago and could come close to fitting in it. My feet (size 11) didnt even get in the pedal box!! That is probally the only car I truely desired and could have died happy with.

The 360 and 355 is just a poor mans 430 or 458 imo. Tho the 355 sounds great. Viper I have only driven on the track and could see it being a pain to drive daily, bad int and not very comfortable either.
R34 was also my other dream car. Hard to find cars for sale. Id love a white one with 600+hp and fully done up for 60-80k.

"The 360 and 355 is just a poor mans 430 or 458"

That's funny because the F430 is headed for current 360 prices in a few years time. I find people who care about whether or not a vehicle is labeled as being a poor man's _____ to be shallow individuals.

As for the R34, if you look hard enough you'll find one.

Just drove an 11 C63 AMG with the amg development pkg so it had the "track" suspension, tuned ecu, lsd (most important) and alcantara wheel/carbon trim.
Blew the tires off in 1st and 2nd when you didn't lift for the shift and felt like a pretty nice car for 50k. I know I can get a 12, which has the all new interior and a coupe for only 10k more but then its like 7500 more from that to the Black Series. I really have to drive one.

Anyone within an hour or so of palm beach county?
