Going to vegas with three other single guys april 4-8th
Staying at Golden Nugget the first two nights, then probably switing to either NYNY or Planet Hollywood.

I am looking for unique, new and off kilter ideas of things to do in vegas. I have done most of the things you find on a tourist map and average sites. So, give me something new?

I have been to vegas enough to know the town pretty well, and this time we are renting a car for our last 24 hours as we have some things we want to see offstrip (GVR, Red Rock, M resort etc)

Meals will be mostly cheapish, not big steakhouses this trip. We are all teachers so our budget is a bit modest and mine personally is a bit less than usual so i want to utilize as much as i can for gambling as opposed to food.

Anyone have any tips on off the wall things to do, perhaps new stuff, or just advice for a vegas veteran. Really dont need suggestions on food so much, just random crap or cheap fun.

couple of questions
a. how crazy do you want to get?
b. do you want activities that involve women?
c. Would you consider bottle service
d. for restaurants, what is your taste, simple like fridays or buck wild crazy like eating on the 64th floor overlooking the strip
e. will you require limo service?
f. will you leave your morals at home?
g. do you want my host to contact you?

Vegas is a whole different animal. I work outta here once a month. I can tell you stories about this place you wouldnt even believe.

what trip to vegas is complete without gettin to the rhino. in fact yesterady on a flight from phili to newport news i saw a guy wearing a sr hat and had to tell him i loved it

the question isnt how crazy we want to get, its how crazy can our wallets afford. We got bottle service at studio 54 last year and enjoyed ghost bar as well. as i said im not exactly a noob, and always get a limo at least one night, its relaly not that much more expensive than a cab three times for the night:clap:

Why are you starting at the Golden Nugget out of all the hotels in LV?
Well i have stayed at most of the better strip casinos (except aria as it just opened) and love gambling downtown. The nugget is the toast of dt so we decided to start out there. We stayed at wynn last year and honestly it was just a bit too hoity toity for us, so we are moving back to TI, PH, NYNY etc.

the nugget is also the only place in town that offers me comped suites. so that doesnt hurt either.

You could hang out with me...for a night of pizza and PS3. Heh. Yeah, I live in Vegas, but I am boring. Stopped the partying a few years ago. This town will kill you if you don't eventually live in it like a normal city.

There's a group of about 20+ of us going to Vegas end of June for a bachelor party. If its anything like mine was, its gonna be crazy. I'd appreciate it if anyone might be able to extend ANY hookups.. The letters SR sound very appealing.

Ok when you get ther. Please contact Rico at the rhino. Please tell him your location and type of order you would like to place. Tell him if you prefer all American burgers, some tamales or some Chinese. They had 253 in stock all the time. Phone is 702 612 4971. Please leave him a message and he will contact you back. Remember Vegas is a service based city and please do not forgeT to tip.

If I had seen this thread earlier I would've chimed in...but looks like your trip is currently in progress. Look forward to the trip report! :D

For anyone else planning a trip, keep in mind that Vegas is currently broken economically. There are deals to be had everywhere, even at places like MGM SkyLofts, Aria SkySuites, and the Wynn/Encore properties. If you are a gambler, you can get some amazing comps and upgrades on rooms for minimal table and slot action. Occupancy rates are low, but top properties still sell out for event weekends. Keep that in mind if you are trying to score a deal. You can always go to a less popular property (ie: older/not as highly rated), and get a deal even on event weekends.

While Vegas clubs would have you believe they are hard to get into and require "VIP" hosts or a fat tip to get in, that's just not the case. Tables don't sell out anymore. You can get a 1 bottle min table at almost every top club, and 2 bottle min is no problem. Bottles start at $475 at most clubs, and you will pay an additional 20% service charge and a 15% gratuity. 2 bottles ends up costing you about 1500, as a result. But, you have guaranteed entry, a table, 60 shots of liquor, and you can usually get 4-6 people at a table. Break it down, and you're looking at $250-300/pp per table. If you want to go all out, and have at least 4 people, $500/pp will get you a prime experience at any club of your choosing. If anyone tells you different, they probably want to book the thing for you. Just go through the club directly (e-mail usually available on their website), cut out that middle man bullshit "VIP host". If you want to skip the line (and you have guys), just walk up one at a time and give a bouncer $20 (not in a group, no-one lets in a group of guys!).

Things I recommend for L4P members with $$$...

Eat at Serrano, Picasso, or Joel Robuchon.
Rent a ferrari, lambo, or other exotic from Vegas Luxury Rides
Stay at the new SkySuites @ Aria, or @ an apt @ Encore, or MGM SkyLofts. If you are a total waster of money, stay at Palms Fantasy suites (not that nice, but more novelty than anything, and a total young crowd hot-spot).
Don't bother with SR- get some in-room entertainment. :D
Get a table @ The Bank, XS or Haze, and get crazy!
Go to Drai's after for more crazy!
Try not to lose all your $$$ in one weekend! :D

DC -

thanks for the response. Sorry if my original post wasn't clear - I will be in LV NEXT week so I am still open to suggestions.

We will be staying at the bellagio with the rest of our group staying at the encore. Big group of college friends (now all working) looking to live it up.

I suspect we will spend a good bit of time at the sports book since it will be the first weekend of march madness (too bad my team isn't going to make it -- see my name).

Do you have any specific clubs you would reccomend? When I was there last year I went to Studio 54 late night and the club in Mirage (can't remember the name at the moment). Can't wait - it's been too long since we really let loose.

Thanks everyone! Hookups still greatly appreciated:clap:
