Currently need:
Fluid (will be going with RBF600 MOTUL, not happy with ate which as put in just 2 weeks ago)
Brakes (HT14 or DTC-70...not sure which to go with on this car, I run HT-14 on rx7-track car and they are great)
Tires (havn't made up my mind, I have my nitto NT01 set from last season still in good shape but may try a different tire)

and the most important variable is family planning mgmt! Wife and baby come 1st.

I'm not the rush in type so I take my time getting prepped.
good thing i went with the motul...if the ate isnt good enough for the turbo its not good enough for my supercar. for tires...i recommend going chinese...nankangs?

bring them along. you can rent one of their suites which gives you a garage as well. my wife and 12 month old have marked the calendar long before. they might even stop by to watch. some of the drivers have their wives either driving or just hanging out...

whatever floats your boat...all i am saying is it doesn't take much to get the car to be track ready. people tend to make too much out of it. its not a race...;)
If only it was this easy with my wife, if you family will actually go out to the track thats a life time of work for me to achieve lol.

:confused:question about the helmets? I know VIR requires snell 2000 or 2005, I have a Bell Star V helmet but it does not have the snell sticker on it. Is that helemt good for the ACNA event. I looked it up on snell website and they listed Bell "racing star V" instead of "star V". I can't tell if they are the same? No pics on line to compare either.
certified ratings are found on cloth tabs inside the helmet usually part of some lining.

Yeah it does not have a snell sticker, I called Bell helmets which couldn't verify it and Snell foundation couldn't either. so I guess i am now looking for one. but is Sa2005 the same as M2005

Guys any one interested in doing this event. I am in but would like for all of us to do it. It's close enough and should be a great time for us.
Shane-masta-flex!!! (lol) call me later today, lets discuss this and I'll check my calender if I'm free because right now, I have too many things planned.

No. SA2005 and M2005 are two completley different tests and requirements.

The long and short of it is that the SA rating is more for cars since it has tests for collision with rollbars, harness bars, etc, plus it must have a fire re-tardant liner.

The M rating is more for motorcycles and do not require a fire re-tardant liner.

Most 'driver education' groups allow the use of 'M' class helmets when you run with them. But on occasion you may run with a group that has a strict requirement that the helmet MUST BE SA rated.

I have both, I usually like to wear my motorcycle helmet when I am in the car on track since it fits me better, and I have many different shields for it. But I always bring both in case the group requires the SA.

There are quite a few places online to get SA2005 helmets for ~$250 shipped.

P.S> I love trackdays. If it fits in my schedule, I'd love to join in with a bunch of you guys.
