So I have had this shirt for quite a few years and havent worn it yet. Mostly because I have no clue what tie I'd wear with it.

Its one of Trump's button downs. Santa Claus red with white collar and white cuffs.

What color tie would go with it?

You'd have to rock a Plaid Tie with some matching red, some crimson, maybe a stitch of yellow or grey. I really cant think of anything else.

Hahaha... truthfully, I dont know if I can either. But like I said, I've had it for a couple years and never worn it. Gotta try it at least once, you know?
Maybe wait till a Christmas Party? hahaha. I'm still going with plaid, that's what I would choose with it. Or a bow tie if you really want to ball out.

It depends on the suit. Since it will be a key color in your color palette.

Palettes that you can play with:

red, blue, yellow
red, green
red, red orange, orange
red, red orange, red violet
red, red violet, violet

I'm making an app that should solve this issue, so I might as well test it out on a real case. Here are some of my tryouts that the app threw at me. It is a hard one to balance right, because of the very intense red. And there are literally hundreds of possibly combinations with just flat colors

If you let me know the suit color, I can be a little bit more specific :) And if you got a week, I can update next week with patterns as well, and the exact shirt!

It strikes me as a no tie kind of shirt to be honest, that said if you really want to wear one I like the brown one that was posted 2 post above.
On the topic of that post, that app looks killer, is it ready to be rolled out soon or can I find it in the app store?

It is great to hear you like it! I'm in the last part of production, mostly finalizing the colors and pattern designs. Since I'm doing it on the side, development goes a bit slow, but I expect to have it in the app-store somewhere in may. I'll send you a pm when it goes up!

Awesome! I love wearing ties and do so several times a week, the one thing that always gets me is matching the tie and the shirt. I'll certainly make good use of the app when it's up and running.

Let me be the first to do you the real favor and tell you that you should simply abandon that shirt immediately. A contrast collar on a standard shirt is an aggressive move, and you need to be a very well-dressed man to pull it off, particularly with contrast cuffs as well. The shirt needs to fit well and your suit needs to be tailored remarkably well (to avoid gapping at the collar and show the proper amount of cuff). Even with all that, contrast collars are best reserved for paler hues of the standard, conservative colors that are most office-friendly: blues, pinks, or even lavender or goldenrod for the most adventurous.

That shirt is a monstrosity. Even at a Christmas party it would simply stick out like a sore thumb. There isn't really a tie you could pair well with it at all. I'm trying to phrase this both tactically and tactfully; in short, the upside to figuring out how to pair the shirt properly with a suit and tie is far outweighed by the downside of looking like a massive tool who is sartorially clueless.

I know this hasn't been posted in for months, but did you ever get the app up and running?

Anyone know the name of it so I can search the App Store?
