Out of these two versions of the Commando, which one would YOU pick? The Big Date or the Power Reserve? Please explain why.

My thoughts:

Big Date
PROS: Cleaner dial, $300 less
CONS: Big date complications looks ordinary

Power Reserve:
PROS: PR complication is more useful
CONS: Dial looks a bit messy, location of PR seems arbitrary

So as of now the PR has the edge for me...

Either way. I do find the PR to be my most used and most appreciated favorite sub-function second only to the date sub-function.

big date, the face on the PR looks cluttered in my opinion.

I would never call the face of a 01-97 cluttered and the big date (01-96) seems out of place to me. These guys have a 40 hour power reserve so it helps to know where you're at.

The Big date looks standard, like most watches. The PR has a different look to it and includes the date. I vote for the PR.

The PR looks smaller in size, is it?
I prefer the PR, personally. The big date is too big, IMO.

Nothing technical. I bought mine in Australia on a whim, just loved the BR look and it was my first experience with them. Now looking into the Big Dates I love the look. I have never tried one on though...
