The one percent can rejoice as their dreams of having a mode of transport that both works on land and sky is finally within view thanks to Lilium Aviation.

The Lilium aircraft requires absolutely no runway and produces zero emissions and will soon be the world’s entirely electric jet capable of both vertical landing and takeoff. The icing on the cake is the fact that the Lilium’s wings will be able to fold back and driven as a car.

This two-person airplane will be able to fly at an altitude of 9,800 feet, have a cruising speed of 180 mph, a maximum of 250 mph and a range of about 300 miles. To keep the aircraft going, a series of tillable electric engines will pump out a total of 435 horsepower.
To operate the airplane-turned-car, one must have a Sport Pilot Licence (SPL) as well as a minimum of 20 hours of flight time…plus cover whatever the cost of this bad boy will be.
For now, this airplane is merely just a concept being developed by Lilium Aviation. The European Space Agency and the European Union’s Climate-KIC program is currently funding its creation and prototypes have already been created. Lilium expects this aircraft to be available on the market by 2018.
