Damn a little harsh aren't you? All you had to do was a Google search on Sky Yacht One to learn more and discover this new guys post might not be spam. Seems when older members react so negatively or jump new people it tends to make the overall L4P site look bad and drive off potential contributors who truly had good intentions or so thats my 2 cents,

what I did find on the plane was neat

Lineage 1000E Skyacht One Executive Jet

it was even featured on Robb Report

Sky Yacht One is a custom private jet based on Embraer's ultralong-range Lineage 1000E aircraft. The concept was created for Robb Report's

Thanks for the post man, but like c6vette has mentioned, it's completely stupidity. It's like taking a yacht, making it 100x more expensive and unnecessary and destroying the experience of open air and water that you get with a yacht.

Just a pathetic idea in my opinion and one that will probably not get an investment, thankfully. Afterall it's only a concept idea by a random design firm.

I think it's a conceptual video and idea so yes its "fake" in the real sense because its simply an idea at this stage. As for it being a referred to as a sky "yacht" I think this comes under the heading of association to the term of something large, elegant, and relaxing; no different than referring to a huge old luxury car as a land yacht. Therefore the use of the word "Yacht" is symbolic in nature and not intended to be taken literally.

I feel like when people refer to a car as a "land yacht" its kind of in a joking or sarcastic way. I doubt any auto manufacturer ever put that term in their sales literature as these "sky yacht" folks have done. I get the point they are trying to make but I think they are trying too hard and using the word "yacht" because ignorant people will automatically associate that with luxury.

ignorant people? Ignorant because they will associate yacht = luxury? Hmm is that like someone possibly associating Ice = cold when used with soda or beer advertisements or a whole long list of other very well know or obvious associations. :rollseyes

While I get you're entitled to your opinion I feel its going a little far when you insult other people as being ignorant because they might "fall" for such an "association" especially on a private jet costing millions of dollars which is a huge luxury in of itself simply because you don't like the fact they used "Yacht" in their advertisement to help sell luxury.

This is a conceptual idea with "yacht" being used to help foster an image or description of luxury and therefore is properly used in my opinion but I'm not going to call anyone ignorant for disagreeing with me.

I wonder if this plane ever gets built if you will decline an invite to fly on it because you feel its so ignorant

We can agree to disagree my friend. Try and calm down a little bit. I don't like it, you do. The end.

BTW being called ignorant is not necessarily an insult.

Yea we just disagree on the advertisement angle, and I agree that we simply disagree and thats not even an issue with me. What personally rubbed me the wrong way was the second post in this thread where a new member was being lashed out against and that did get me worked up a little in how a new member was treated.

As for it not necessarily being an insult to be called "ignorant" I again disagree especially in the tone that it was used. Almost like calling a slow mentally challenged person retarded even though retarded means "slow" or to "slow down", it still comes off as a little disrespectful in my opinion, but heck what do they say about opinions and everyone having one?

So yea we simply disagree and its nothing personal at all, and if I came off as being "worked up", then my bad and I apologize.

We've both been long time members here at the 4 and the last thing we (or anyone) needs is to engage in petty internet arguments. therefore all is good!

BTW I still think the sky yacht is a great name
