This year for Ferrari’s Top Design School Challenge, creative minds were tasked with envisioning what a Ferrari might look like in 2040. Three distinct designs were picked by Ferrari as standouts; top prize went to the Ferrari Manifesto concept by six students from the ISD-Rubika in Valenciennes, France.
Judges for the competition included Sebastian Vettel, Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay and Paolo Pininfarina.
The two other concepts that received special recognition were Roman Egorov’s Ferrari FL (video above), and the Ferrari de Esfera, conceptualized by students from the Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea. Egorov stood out as he focused on reimagining Ferrari’s interior, featuring a cabin with a human machine interface using noble materials (not typical carbon fiber like today). The de Esfera was chosen from an online ballot, winning the “Premio Speciale” award.
