I don't think the X1 is a competitor for the GLK. The car is way too small. Maybe youhave seen the new X3?Yesterday on the 134 freeway, headed west, around 1:30PM or so, I stepped on the Go pedal in my E92 M3 and was headed on my way. While merging towards the fast lane, I was right behind a light blue Hydrogen BMW X6, I thought it was interesting, but I didn't give it a second thought. I kept going in the fast lane (never going over the speedlimit ofcourse). Then out of the corner of my eye I caught a new gold BMW GranTurismo, I thought "I really like those things", when I realized, this wasn't the 5-Series GT, It was larger. It had to be the BMW 7-Series GrandTurismo. Noticing that both of the cars had California DST distributor plates, I figured out what was going on. I kept going, saw the sexiest little thing I've ever seen! Okay, maybe not, but it was close! The brand new blue BMW X1! I love it! It is definitely a GLK competitor and an A4 wagon competitor, but different than both, It was PERFECT looking. I started getting excited, thinking I'd run into the ED concept, I didn't find it, but I did find something... A brand new 5-series, covered in big black plates, with a lot more aero than a stock one, and a huge grill on the front. I think it was the new 2012 BMW M5? Couldn't get a very clear look at it though. I didn't snap any pictures unfortunately, but it was a cool 20 minutes on the freeway.
THEN, Tonight, on a canyon in Beverly Hills at night I saw... The new AUDI Quattro Concept! It looks AMAZING. Its between an A5, an R8, and the E-Tron. Very business friendly, but still very hip/young looking.
ANYWAYS, I just wanted to share that with you guys, because we know which concepts are actually going to come out!
Have a good one, If you are in So-Cal and see an interesting BMW, snap a pic!
We have the X1 here for almost a year now and it's quite popular but small. The GLK is way bigger and the new X3 which hit the market this month or next month will have the size of the GLK.
The M5 is definately a nice spot even though you missed to take pics...
