]This was brought up on another forum, thought some of you might be interested in watching it. Still filming and airs in October. Many high end cars and HUGE crashes. Makes Bullrun look tame. Lotus, Corvettes, Porsches, Subi, SRT8s, Aerial Atom...... Watch videos for some aweful crashes including a beautiful porsche :(

I don't understand why everyone crashed in the same damn spot. It looked like they just came in hot and didnt even try to turn, just slid right off track. Yea you "drank beer, we broke parts...", but I am pretty sure the STi, Porsche and the Z Coupe were done for the day....

I just got a google alert that your forum was featuring the RHR trailer. I am a participant and can tell you that this show will be like NOTHING you have ever seen before. (I am racing both an SRT-8 Jeep and C5 Z06 which is basically a purpose-built race car). The clips in that trailer are from only the first event held in Berlin, NH back in May. That left hander definately claimed a lot of high-end sheet metal and only scratch the surface when it comes to intense footage.

This aint no Bull Run- trust me. I think you are going to find that this show will be one to set your DVR for. In addition to the spectacular racing footage I think you will also find that the theme of giving back to the communites we visited will make this one of the most different shows you have ever watched.

Wonder what kind of insurance & liability waiver these guys sign before being able to participate, hahaha.

giving back to the community though, is awesome.
That's a very simple answer. You break it- you pay for it. That goes for your car, a telephone pole or the gate to a fence. As far as your car goes- we had an insurance expert who regularly insures cars for track days try to get the opportunity for insurance for particpants but no carrier would underwrite it. Bottom line- you are self insured.

The producers of the event do have liability insurance but that doesnt cover property damage. (We dont allow spectators anymore since the end of June after that near miss. They are just too hard to keep where they are supposed to- as in the horrible tragedy at the California 200).

Giving back to the community is probably the one thing that made this so appealing to the contestants. We get the opportunity to race legally on closed public roads AND contribute to persons and communities in need. To date we have donated about $50k to the various causes.

That is the car that goes off in the left-hander in the trailer. He wins the award for first car to wreck twice and not still not complete one lap!!!!

Don't worry- Marko (the crazy bastard who owns the M3) will be back in another M3 before the end of the season!!!!!!

That left hand turn looks brutal. Off-set the car's balance on what looks to be a low traction surface. Drivers seem to be coming from an area of high speed on a wide track, which can be very deceiving.

Can't wait to see more coverage.

While that is true.....the situation is more like "When the cameras go on.....the brains go off". You will enjoy ALL aspects of the show from actual racing footage to the character development that will evolve thru the season.

Wow. I mean it looks cool... i Just hope that they increase the safety for everyone involved... no fun getting killed or killing bystanders.
The rally no longer permits spectators. They are just too hard to control and dont stay where they are told. Safety of the drivers.....well....that's up to thier right foot most of all BUT helmets and fire suits are required by all. Most of the purpose built race cars have roll cages and various safety systems installed. The biggest problems are typically the cars that fall into the "not quite race- not quite stock" catagory.
