if someone gave you 30 grand to make a 1000whp, good handling, good braking car. what would you guys buy? what engine would you swap/mod. what suspension would you run? what wheels tires and brakes would you run?
thinking about that. but want to go the rb26dett route instead.Turbo LSX swapped FD RX-7
whole package. cars, susp, wheels brakes, motor etc.30k for mods and car?
Or just 30k for mods?
lol that is so out its not even funny. its gona turn like a boat lol. :lol:Damn... 30 grand is a tough spot... well I know what I would build... but my preferences are very odd.
I'd do another second gen Mark VIII... 97-98... buy a mint example for $5k, drop $5k on a forged motor, $3k on a supercharger, $2k on a built trans, $2k on a drive shaft and rear end, $1k on brakes, $3k on wheels.... and then another $5k on interior mods and have the exact one I always wanted to build hahahahaha.
can that chassis handle 1000whp?My suggestion was going to be for a S14 240SX with a RB26DETT
lol its a big fast lux boat...but i have the sl55 for that. That car just has a soft spot in my heart... I've owned 9 of them, sold my last one a year ago... I don't know what it is about that car.
when i went to hs....mark8s were expensive as hell. i wanted one to cruise in. i remember a dude who had one which was fast as hell.Well when you are 16 in HS you can't buy an SL55 so you get the next best thing  or the thing about a dozen steps down that you can actually afford.
holmeslice got that rightHe is basically saying that he is 'money' so he wants you to use a rubberband and roll him up.
not trying to be an ass but 9s would be small potatoes in my garage.I thought it was about the rapper also. Meh.
Gimme 15k for my 2000 ek hatch. 780whp and runs 9's.
are they that small? i cant fit into a s2000 too well. so we can use that as a gauge. We recently finished a random 2.7t swap into a Audi 1990 90 coupe. The project turned out really well due to weight, awd, power combo. It looks like you already know about the 2.7t so this would be adding amother level. I can send you a short video of the car.
My other thought would be (don't know if it is possible) but using the cobra 4.6 supercharged motor and doing a swap into a focus/escort platform. The motor is a great build for cheap, and the car/parts are cheap. Just a thought.
A side note: the thought of an mr2 is great, the build is great, fast and light. But o notice your name as "big"mnz04, and if I am reading it right you might not fit in the mr2. I am 6'4" and 240 and can only last about 4 minutes in that tight of a space.
thought about a 3000gt after i saw all that stuff PJ (turbology) posted about them. but i think i want a mid engined car. have not had since i got rid of the gallardo.maybe its time you mess around with a dsm....
dont need the 4 doors lol.Get a Crown Victoria, P71, make it looks like a HP car.
AND GET TO DA MODZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
these are what i am looking at:Maybe work on a E30 and turn it into a track toy?
i would love to...but i doubt that would fit within a 30grand budget.just saying....
what runs in the 7s?I dont like it anymore either, thats why im trying to sell it. Was a project back in 2007 and now I have no time to drag anymore.... Moved on to faster projects, in the 7's...
it cant be done for 30...a good supra will run 20 alone. and then the turbo kit, suspension, brakes.if it was 30k for mod for a 1000rwhp car... the answer would be Supra MKIV fo sho.
i have pics in progress...i just got the engine in. i will post some pics once i finish it.Any pics of the '69 with the 903???
Good luck with whatever you decide on, I'm sure it will be fun.
i think the pipster is talking about crankwalk. but i know the 6bolts take car of that.everything breaks a lot... what do you consider a lot?
tell me more.Yes, it oddly would.....
