Hey guys & gals as some of you may know we released the No.46 on September 8th of this year. I would greatly appreciate some feedback from those of you who have smoked one.. or two :laugh: . Feel free to be honest with your opinions. Hopefully we can pull a hat trick with this one for Cigar Aficionado's 2010 Cigar of The Year. Thank you!

Jeff, no locals??

Be sure to share your experience after you have smoked it! ;)
I actually do not have any accounts open in Keller, the stores you have visited may have been getting them via other sources.
It is in Denton.... Anything north of dallas?
Found the goods near my office :)

Damn you plano people on the other side of the lake :)

Luckily Up in Smoke here in lewisville has a big selection of padrons.. A few bucks more but i would spend that in gas heading over to you!
Well guys, as promised, I fired one up last night. My thoughts....

Pre-light: the cigar smelled very nice. I noticed at the foot that the filler was a little shorter than the binder. Upon cutting it, the pre-lit draw was unbelievably easy.

After-light: A little hard to get lit (haven't had this much trouble since a year ago). Very unique taste of wood, cedar, spice, and licorice(?) my wife and I had a hard time trying to distinguish a few of the undertones. It was definitely a very complex cigar, way more complex than the 45th. Once I hit the 2/3, the "little hammer" was in full swing, and for the first time in a year, i had to slow down smoking, or I would be on the floor.

Now onto the bad: This cigar had serious burn issues. everything was fine for the first cm, but after that, the bottom (opposite of the band) started to burn way faster. I kicked off the ash and re-light to fit it. It was fixed, but 15 mins later, it started to burn unevenly. Took my cutter and cut off the ash, then relight the cigar. After 5 mins, the burn started to get bad again. I had to put the cigar down early, because I had to keep fixing it, and I was getting jealous of the man across from me who paid $12.00 for his cigar and it burned perfectly. Honestly, After these issues, I don't think I would buy another 46. Maybe I just got a dud, but for $25+, I shouldn't be getting a dud. I was really expecting a lot from this cigar. The flavour profile was spot on, the construction almost spot on, but the burn was absolutely horrible.

***edit: Added picture....

Are you sure you weren't drooling on the top of the cigar because it was so good which in turn would make the bottom burn faster because it was dryer? :D

Also I noticed you said your wife was with you when you were smoking it; did she make you put a fan in the room so it would blow the smoke out of the room? If so the fan could have blown on the cigar constantly and make one side burn faster. :D JK

I've had 2 out of my box of 46's and neither one burnt like that. And to be honest I have never had a Padron Cigar burn that way before either. Maybe yours was a Dud.

I was at an indoor cigar lounge.... no fans blowing on the cigar and drooling was to a minimum last night... haha
Closest retailer to 76006(Arlington)! Id like to get a few for my dad. Also if you have any retailers near 79936 that would be appreciated as my parents live there and I could send my dad to pick one up. I was able to get a Padron at a cigar shop, I know it wasnt the 46, but he did very much enjoy it when he smoked it.
let me check that out.
man would have liked to have one on christmas, birthday, and new years....:eek:hwell:
