Well guys, as promised, I fired one up last night. My thoughts....
Pre-light: the cigar smelled very nice. I noticed at the foot that the filler was a little shorter than the binder. Upon cutting it, the pre-lit draw was unbelievably easy.
After-light: A little hard to get lit (haven't had this much trouble since a year ago). Very unique taste of wood, cedar, spice, and licorice(?) my wife and I had a hard time trying to distinguish a few of the undertones. It was definitely a very complex cigar, way more complex than the 45th. Once I hit the 2/3, the "little hammer" was in full swing, and for the first time in a year, i had to slow down smoking, or I would be on the floor.
Now onto the bad: This cigar had serious burn issues. everything was fine for the first cm, but after that, the bottom (opposite of the band) started to burn way faster. I kicked off the ash and re-light to fit it. It was fixed, but 15 mins later, it started to burn unevenly. Took my cutter and cut off the ash, then relight the cigar. After 5 mins, the burn started to get bad again. I had to put the cigar down early, because I had to keep fixing it, and I was getting jealous of the man across from me who paid $12.00 for his cigar and it burned perfectly. Honestly, After these issues, I don't think I would buy another 46. Maybe I just got a dud, but for $25+, I shouldn't be getting a dud. I was really expecting a lot from this cigar. The flavour profile was spot on, the construction almost spot on, but the burn was absolutely horrible.
