Overfinch Bespoke Vehicles, the company which customises Range Rovers for the likes of Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, has been put into administration.

The famous brand, which also counts Katie Price and Jeremy Clarkson among its fleet of celebrity customers, has been placed into the hands of administrators Lisa Hogg and Claire Foster from Wilson Field who will look to find a buyer for the company.

Established in 1975, Overfinch, which has 15 distributers worldwide, made its name for lavishly modifying Range Rovers.

Its £140,000 Holland and Holland model is billed as one of the world’s most luxurious 4x4s with the bodywork taking 130 man hours to paint and hand-polish. Inside, it boasts a gun rack and drinks cabinet stocked with champagne, whisky and gin.

Joint administrator Lisa Hogg said: “Over the last 35 years, Overfinch has established a reputation as the originator and leading authority in high performance derivatives of the Range Rover.

“Unfortunately, over the last 18 months the company has incurred significant one-off non-trading costs which have severely affected cash flow.

“We are continuing to trade the business while a purchaser is sought and we are already in talks with a number of interested parties.”

Roger Hunt, senior partner at Clarion, the legal firm advising the administrators, said: “Given Overfinch’s position as a world leader in its field and with its valuable intellectual property rights, we are confident that the business will be sold within the next few weeks, securing the future of its 20 staff.”
