Sorry if this has been covered..ran a search and didnt come up with anything..

Im interested in an 08 or 09 GTS. There seems to be a pretty big price break in some ive been looking at as far as the 08s and 09s. Other than the obvious (one year newer) it leads me to wonder if there is anything to watch out for in the 08s.

I believe 08 was the first year production for GTS specifically...and sometimes first year models have gremlins. Any to watch out for?

Ive got my eye on a couple that have in between 15-20k miles for $60k-ish.

Oh, and any owners please chime in on ownership experience. That exhaust in sport mode seems intoxicating!

Thanks in advance!

Our black '08 has a high pitched squeak in the brakes under gentle acceleration. No idea why and the dealer can't figure it out. Other then that no issues with either of the two '08 GTSs in the family.

Get the '09 thought for the bits Fred mentioned. Getting the '08 updated for these wasn't cheap.

Depending on the type of calipers a piston could be sticking. I had a set of Wilwoods that would would only stick when the temp dropped below 50 degrees. The seals were bad and one of the retractor pins was slightly bent.

65K sounds reasonable and I think you should be able to get him down to 62K.

Like I said before, I don't know what it is and two separate dealers can't figure it out. The car had 3 miles when I took delivery in April of 2008, so it can't be damage from a previous owner. The car hasn't had any negative issues with pads/rotors or drivetrain and has over 30k on the clock. I have pushed the hell out of it around my home in Austin and up the ski basin road in Santa Fe, NM, and still no mechanical issues. Just the squeak and at slow speeds it is often quite loud.

I'm thinking that a Sharkwerks exhaust bypass may cover it up ;)
