I am a huge fan of Mr. Chow's in LA! One of my staples when in town, usually go there with a large group of friends and grab a large party table in the back.

George's on the Cove in La Jolla is one of the greatest on-water dining experiences ever, a definite must for being in the area for either dinner or a weekend afternoon!

In North Park San Diego you can find a place called Tioli's Crazee Burger, they have the most exotic burgers you can find anywhere... ostrich, gazelle, alligator, etc. Each specialty meat comes with a specially made condiment that brings out the flavors very well! High highly recommended! Also get the garlic cheese fries, not what you are expecting, not heavy but amazing!

The stinking rose is up in SF too, roscoes will definitely be checked out!
Any other suggestions? Price isn't a factor

Didn't read you were from the Bay Area. I was just there and I have to say Squat & Gobble is like the best food I have ever had. That place is amazing!

Dude you live there and never eaten it??!?! OMG it's seriously some of the best food I have ever had. I don't normally walk away from restaurants impressed but that one got me.

I had their Kung Pao chicken from the Wok Menu, dear lord it was amazing.

Is it a crepe place? I'm on my phone, kinda confusing with yelp

Edit: I'm guessing the wok menu had nothing to do with the crepe place?

No that's the weird part of it, it is a crepe place but they have multiple menus. Italian pastas, burgers, sandwiches, wok items, seafood.

I'm a recent transplant from New York so I have been searching high and low for some of the staple foods that I am used to and it has been tough.

Best Bagel that I have found- Brooklyn Water Bagel

Best Pizza I have found- Joe's Pizza on Sunset

Best Steak I have found- Wolfgangs in Beverly Hills (Peter Lugers style and not Wolfgang Pucks)

I have many more places to try and I see a lot of people talking about Maestros so I will have to try that but these are the best that I have experienced so far.
