Hi guys,
Thought I would share my new garage build here. It is a steel building 80' x 125' It will be split into three sections, 50 x 80 will be for enclosed toy parking, 50 x 80 climate controlled shop, with a wash bay, meeting room, & gym. Above that will be an apartment/doghouse. I will use the last 25 x 80 for storage for my business. I am posting up to where we are right now along with some very primative plans done on google sketchup.

What made you choose steel vs. concrete tilt up.
Mainly cost of construction. Here in the high dry desert, steel will last about as long as concrete. It also matches the construction of the rest of my businesses facilities.

Thanks Guys! I will try not to disappoint everyone with this one. We are on schedule to start sheeting on Monday. I have to start ordering the three AC/heating units (15 tons) next week, along with the cabinets for the kitchen, electrical panels, lighting ect.....
I will also get after the Mohawk lift, and tire equip. Man my Amex card will be smoking this next week.
I will post up more pics this next week as they get the sheeting done.

Well since this is a by the seat of the pants kind of build, I am making this up while we go.
I found a spiral staircase that I think will fit in nicely for access to the second story. What do you guys think?
I am going to try to give the facade of the apartment and downstairs level an old fashioned look to it. Maybe thirties kinda street feel.
Also trying to figure out the floor. Leaning towards acid stain and clear epoxy.

Thanks! Will probably have to use some racedeck in the working areas, like around the lift and in the wash bay.

Man I am just getting started on the car collecting. So far besides the daily drivers:
2011 CTSV, 1969 convertible SS350 Camaro, 2010 Lingenfelter Camaro and a '85 CJ7.
The 2010 LPE is putting down 701 RWHP, and is my current favorite. A few weeks ago I sheared the output shaft off the tranny at the strip. I have a new level VI TR 6060 coming from RPM now. Don't think it is only good in a straight line, it hits 1.3 G's on the track as well.
I also have a Renegade Motorhome and a stacker trailer, hence the height of the shop. At 6'4" I am very limited on the Italian cars, maybe one day I will find one I can get in and out of.
Here is some progress on the shop.
The first pic shows the 16'x16' framed opening for the rollup door to the right of the man door. Along with the almost complete first interior dividing wall. The interior of the center section shop will be drywalled and climate controlled. It will also have the wash bay/paintbooth, machine shop, and the second story sanctuary.
I am also including a picture of the Renegade, parked where the shop is now under construction.
The second pic was taken from atop the scaffolding and you can see the roughed in plumbing for the sanctuary.
