The last thing we needed was another car. But exploring online the idea of a Range Rover became more and more appealing. I daily a MINI Countryman ALL4 that has everything I want, but it only took one look at these monstrous British behemoths to see it was right.

Arriving at Land Rover Las Vegas at 7:50PM (most dealerships close at 9pm so I figured we had some time before they kicked us out), I noticed a black/black 2010 HSE in the used car area. Nothing to scoff at, a very kind gentleman of a salesman named Donny Tackett brought the keys over so we check it out. We liked it, but black on black was the last thing anyone wanted with the extreme heat Las Vegas sees (not to mention, I'm OCD about scratches and swirl marks, so DD'ing a black car would not be easy to keep clean and free of blemishes). As we made our way to leave I noticed a stunning ivory colored Range Rover in the corner of the lot. I knew exactly what it was and why I asked the price was beyond me.

This was no regular Range Rover or even Supercharged variant, but a full fledged 2012 Autobiography. Painted in Valloire white ($16,500 option) over ebony and ivory, this truck was perfect. The acceleration in this truck is unbelievable. Such a different experience from our Flying Spur. As far as fit & finish, I have yet to find a flaw or area that Land Rover overlooked. I must also say working with Land Rover Las Vegas was a true pleasure. I got to know our salesman Donny very well, as well as John Navara, the used car manager. Everyone was very upfront, and easy to work in terms of my specific requests in the deal. I look forward to coming back and buying another Range Rover from these guys in the near future. :)

Anyway, onto the Rover.

 Maybe in the future buddy. Besides every new thread that pops up only has the new Rover as a model, kind of hard to visualize anything on mine!

Yeah, it's kinda distorted when you look at it. I don't even notice stock cars anymore. How's the MINI treating you?

The Countryman is phenomenal, 20k miles in a year and a half and not a single problem (except for a battery, which MINI covered). I have it listed for sale along with the Brabus Smart in the garage, however I may just end up keeping it since it has a full CPO warranty until early 2017. My MINI Inspired by Goodwood has not seen a whole lot of use (700 miles since purch. new in December last year), but the driving it has seen has been most enjoyable. :)

They really are phenomenal! You have the black supercharged in that video, correct? If so that is a killer look you have going on. I get suck a kick out of people telling me how unreliable they are. Everyone one of my friends that has owned a Rover (except for one) had next to no problems with theirs. Here's to the next 60k. :)

Reason I asked is because we need a small and nimble little racer for some of our daily chores. Naturally, some 18/19" would be dropped on it, but hey we are a wheel company after all. In terms of every day use, how fast can you really drive that thing? And can you fit four wheels with tires in it? You know, if we need to make an urgent delivery across NYC that is! :D

Thanks for the kind words everyone. :)

Spent an afternoon applying Leatherique's 2-step conditioner to the Autobiography's leather interior. This removed any of the cheap looking oily dressing product previously used, and left behind a nourished, clean, and rejuvenated matte finish. Went through quite a bit of product going over everything from the headliner to the dash topper, but the look and lasting scent is worth it, especially with how bright and clean the ivory seat inserts now appear. I absolutely love these products and recommend them highly!

My OCD is taking over as it usually does, and I am replacing/fixing the items that needs attention IMO.
-Scouring eBay I found a NIB '12 Adaptive Headlight to replace the passenger side as it is pretty hammered with rock chips. With this I will have 2 new lights and they will be perfect for clear-bra application.
-Also keeping a lookout for a new or gently used Polished Piano/leather steering wheel. I'm strange when it comes to steering wheels, as I love the feel & look of brand new leather hide, and it's these small details and really keep a proper auto looking it's finest.

In other news, received a call from Land Rover Las Vegas that my parts are in, so Monday morning the following will be fitted:
-New driver side Adaptive Headlamp (housing is no longer airtight, dust and moisture accumulating inside)
-New rubber exterior door sills
-New rear entertainment remote dock in rear armrest
-Fix a whistling noise in the driver side A pillar
-Misc. other small things

Driving last week I hit who knows what (looked like a large brick), which resulted in a severely cracked windshield.:( Fortunately, like the items above a windshield replacement is under my warranty plan. :) Not a fun feeling, and after owning 9 cars this is the first time I have had something like this happen. New front glass should be fitted next week, then the Range Rover will be heading to Auto Restore Specialists in Henderson, NV to have the front bumper and front end of hood re-sprayed. After this the truck will be heading to paint correction and finally will receive a clear bra and have the 'Range Rover' re-applied by Clear View Mobile in Las Vegas.

I will keep everyone posted on the modest progress of the Range. Nothing crazy, but in my opinion this truck needs very little. I do hear the comments on the wheels, personally I do not mind them as much as others, and the size and tire combo should do decently should I opt to take it on any ski/snowboarding trips. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a nice take-off deal for something beautiful, polished and fitted looking to fill the wheels wells of this truck (in a sophisticated manor).

Cheers,

Bradley in LV

I love the wheels. I think a more aggressive tire would really pull the look together. I love my Cooper LTZ's.
Thanks, from what I can tell they seem to be a rare wheel than most. What size did you go with? How was the ride on the street with those Coopers?

Well the Range is in the final steps of a 3-stage polish/buff by Lamborghini Las Vegas head detailer Eric Williams... I am truly excited to see how it looks when I pick it up sometime this week. :)

Range is back from Land Rover after a small tear in a central hose that left a tablespoon of oil on my garage floor, a new rear carpet trim (old one had a handle that was rattling with loud music), and a new passenger side headlight (old one had slight condensation).

If you live in Las Vegas, or are passing through with your Land Rover/Range, be sure to stop at Land Rover Las Vegas. Besides killer customer service, they have gone above and beyond for absolutely everything. Their GM is now a friend of mine and we will definitely be visiting them when the time comes for a new Range in a few years.

In other news, clear bra is done thanks to Auto Couture Customs in Henderson NV. Great guys to deal with and they did a stellar job on installation, including fixing one small area in the bumper I was not 100% satisfied with (my little OCD getting the best of me).

New pictures coming once this beauty is back from detail. :)
