PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTINUING: Before I start, I would like to thank my parents for the continued support of taking over their garage and long hours and days of making noise, smelling up the house, and spreading possible toxins within the garage. Despite the car being mine, my dad has done more work on it than I have as he has previous restoration experience. This is the first FULL restoration that I've been apart of and my parents have helped me not only with leaving me the garage, but even financially for the purchase of pieces and for the borrowing of equipment from my dad.

A 1957 Chevy 150 and a Chevy Bel Air Coupe have a minor difference, the Coupe has no post between the side and quarter windows.

Here we go...

Long story short, in 2007 I purchased a 1957 Chevy model 150 (video number 1) in South Carolina for a few thousand. I was low on funds for a while after that since things came up in real life and fast forward to January 2012, I was driving along some country road and spotted a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Coupe with a for sale sign so my dad and I did what still is the most dangerous car maneuver I've ever experienced and pulled into his driveway.

Video 1, basically a slideshow of pictures, I wasn't going to post 25+ pics, video is quick, approx 1 min.

Not long after, I purchased the Coupe (video number 2) which was more advanced and I had some saved up money from over the years and from selling stuff so I decided to start this car immediately. My parents would only agree to me purchasing this one if I was actually serious about it. My dad promised to help me as much as he could on his time off as long as I continue to fund the project.

Video number 2, a bit longer, story is as stated above, this is the car I'm currently restoring and the only one I have now:

Current progress: Land vehicle Vehicle Car Classic car Full-size car
Engine Auto part Vehicle Motor vehicle Car
Hood Automotive exterior Vehicle Car Automotive design
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Classic car Vintage car

First time we have ever started it (skip to the end if interested). My dad and I had some mechanically inclined friends come over for the evening to finally bring it to life.

How it sounds today: (no exhausts are on the car at the time of this video and still today)

Engine specifications: The engine is a 1970 Chevy 350 4 bolt main engine. It has a 12:1 compression ratio, 5:40 lift, roller rockers, Edelbrock high rise aluminium intake, Rochester Competition carburator, accell ignition system, accompanied by a C3 transmission. 411 gears are being used.

More to come...

Thanks, I have SO MANY more pics but it's a pain in the ass to resize each one... Takes me like 2 minutes per pic. Is there an easier way than saving it, then opening paint and copy/pasting the pic and then changing it's dimensions and saving again?

When I read your comment I wasn't scrolled down all the way and I'm like "how doesn't he believe it's mine? Did I forget to post the lego pics?"

So whats the plan? Colors, wheels, style (pro-touring v. traditional set up, etc)
The plan:

Cragar S/S wheels, 15 inch all around, rear wheels MUST BE abnormally wide... I like that look.

Google Image Result for http://www.armadaleautoparts.com/userimages/wheels/cragar_ss.jpg

Color will be a candyapple red, or maybe a touch darker... kind of like the Aventador J color.

It will be a traditional look interior and out. RIght now it has drums on all four but the conversion isn't necessary to drive and is too damn expensive for me :/ For next summer I hope to have at least the front on discs with matching painted calipers. The suspension will stay with leaf springs in the back since it's best for drag racing as it gives more stability.

The car should be smooth on the road either way, although the engine does make the car shake a bit now but I believe it's because the car is still really light from being stripped and it's the exhaust system. I'M most likely going to go with a magnaflow exhaust with quicktime performance cutout 3" dual kit. I actually had a few questions about cutoff exhausts so if anyone has some knowledge on it please let me know.

I WILL BE PAINTING THE ROOF. The roof will NOT be white and will be the same color as the exterior alongside the interior dash. The wings will stay white.

I had 15" Crag SS's on my car for years! (They're now on my dad's '67 chevelle)

What color are you thinking for the interior? 2 tone red/white?!?!

The last video of your car reminded me of this thing:

Full black interior. No classic white/red since it looks a bit cheesy and is a PAIN to keep clean.

Very clean, I like the wheels too. Looks like a complete restoration, if it is, was it you that did it or you was it bought/done like that?

Actually, I'll use this picture for reference. As we see with Just-bill, the roof is painted white. On mine, I will paint the roof the same color as the side of the car which seem a bit out of place but I think it will look really good.
