Aston Martin has announced the return of the Lagonda nameplate with a new limited edition super saloon, but there's a catch.

Several actually.

Not only will the new Lagonda be offered in limited edition, it won't be offered for sale in North America, or Europe, or even China. That's right, the brand's new ultra-expensive four-door will be reserved specifically for the Middle East, based, the company says, "as a result of specific market demand."

While just two photos of the new model have been released it's obvious to see that the car resembles the original 1976 Lagonda.

Based on the brand's current VH architecture, which underpins everything from the entry-level Vantage to the range-topping Vanquish, and even the current Rapide, the car's entire body will be made of carbon fiber and manufactured by the same team that created the One-77 hypercar.

No price has been announced, but Aston Martin says it, "will be commensurate with the car’s exclusivity, quality and luxurious nature," so expect to see six zeros.

“The new model, like its exclusive siblings the One-77 and V12 Zagato, has been created as a piece of exceptional automotive art," said Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman. "It has been designed and developed entirely in keeping with the spirit and ethos of previous Lagonda super saloons – notably the William Towns Lagonda – and as a tribute to this car it proudly bears the Lagonda nameplate.”

The Lagonda will go into production starting in early 2015.
