Well I've kinda gotten out of the sports memorabilia world. Right now trying to get rid of the last of my stuff, still gonna keep some stuff around but putting this bad boy up for sale.

Although with the economy the market for any game worn piece has dropped considerably its still worth a decent amount and is a nice addition for any sports fan

This is from the 97-98 season as the tag inside indicates. All tags are in the proper location. Shows good game usage. A little known fact is NBA players are not given new uniforms for every game, just new shoes. A player is issued 2 home and 2 away jerseys and whatever altnernates they may wear such as the Lakers wear white and the Cavs have worn god knows how many throwbacks.

Size is correct for that year as a +4 and does come with a certificate from PSA/DNA verifying authenticity. PSA/DNA, Grey Flannel, and a few others are among the trusted names in authenticating sports memorabilia.

Judging from the market and where it sits, the value of this piece would be between 2000-2500.00 however I know its worth what someone is willing to pay, sort of like a house. Give me a reasonable offer, not looking for any trades of any kind unless you have something really interesting

The case is not included unless you really want it to be, its a nice case and was around 550 bucks if I remember the figures correctly but it would be extremely hard and expensive to ship so unless you want it, the case is not included. I can accept paypal but you would be responsible for the 3.5% fee. I also can accept a wire transfer but again any fee your bank charges is up to you to pay.

Here are the pics, if you want anymore I can try to take them but its in a case so kind of hard to get inside. I mean it is what it is, its a piece of clothing thats been inside a UV resistant case for the last 5 years so not too much to look at!

When I got the jersey I took as many relevant pictures as I could knowing what collectors look for and knowing one day I might sell it. If it doesn't sell here within say a week or so I'm gonna throw it on the good ol ebay

No Chuck, just getting out of the collecting thing. I have a full "8" uniform and will probably purchase a full "24" uniform but those are my only pieces I want and the only 1 piece of the collection thus far I will keep.

I beleive a "game worn" jersey is worth more than one that is not as technically you can extract viable strands of DNA from the sweat stains left behind in the garment and you could theoretically clone youself a team full of Kobe's. Now thats gotta be worth more.

If not, you can probably still count on residual secret majic mojo residue to still reside in any garment worn by that particular premier player. And this majic essence would atleast in part be transferred over to the new wearer.

So as you can see either way it should be worth more. How much more is purely subjective.

Big difference between game worn and just signed. A standard signed Kobe jersey goes for 300-500. Game worn a lot more. A 2001 NBA Finals game worn uniform of Kobe went close to 50,000.00 bucks. A game worn Jordan jersey will cost you a ton as well. The #8 Kobe jerseys generally have a little higher value since he wears 24 now and the 8s obviously aren't being made.

EDIT: I also just looked at your link. That is a replica jersey, that isn't even a game issued jersey. Game issued uniforms are for when players rip them or need a spare but aren't worn. Notice how the link you posted it has a tag on the neck? Real game jerseys don't have that since they are player specific also since players are generally taller than the normal public most of them have Length + depending on how tall they are

This link to a Jordan Game used uniform is a more accurate depiction of the Game used market. Its buy it now is 20,000.00 so a lot more than the 600 you paid for a standard autographed jersey. One thing I might mention if you are interested in learning about it is heading over to a site called Collector's Corner and they can break it down for you very well. You also meet some interesting people who interesting connections. Dan Ciercano(sp?) works with the Lakers and has for years, he even knows who makes the actual Laker game jerseys and what thread they use, he is an excellent source of Lakers gear! He sells game used shoes for a very reasonable price.

Funny side story............I saw someone on Collector's corner auctioning off Shaq uniforms. His rookie shorts with Orlando were a size 48 and his shorts while he was with the Lakers were a size 60 That fatass!!! Haha

Not a problem, just a misunderstanding.

I put it on ebay, buy it now 2000.00 but I would be willing to listen to offers from L4P and take the ebay listing down. I have never sold memorabilia on ebay and am not exactly looking forward to making a transaction over ebay so I would be more than willing to end it early.
