Hi guys. Don't post very often but going to try to contribute a little more.
I picked up an ariel atom 2 300 with sector 111 and smi upgrades this weekend. Haven't gotten to put many road miles on her yet but my intial impressions are:
1) Certainly as you can imagine, good HP to weight ratio at at least lower speeds. Haven't gotten about 110-ish
2) Brakes are REALLY poor when cold. Perhaps it is the pads that are on the car. Locked the front up just on the test drive. Improved diailing to more rear bias but cold tires/roads didn't help.
3) Better wind protection than I expected. Has those little bubbles on the front which directs flow around my head better than i thought. Also has the lexan side panels installed which I am told helps.
4) Overall fitment/quality about what you expect from a company assembling such small quantities of cars. CF bits are decent as are welds, etc, but don't expect Zonda stuff here.
Going to get a set of the original aluminum front/rear wings for the car. They were originally on the track spec atoms--now they have a carbon version but it is a little too "swoopy" for my tastes.
