80 on the speedo is not 80 on the water. I have a modded FZR SHO Riva 2 and a heavily modded Ultra 150. A stock FZR is as fast as the Seadoo and faster out of the hole. I can top out at 78mph with all restrictions off, on flat lake water. The Ultra has buckshots, Brothers, Solas, and shreader will top out at 80.3 and will take the SHO through the whole range. With its light weight and small size it is still my favorite. Where the FZR shines is in the bumpy stuff, in the Ocean it is Boss. I had an Ultra 250, both the FZR and the Ultra were better in almost every way other then seat comfort. Raced both of my skis against many stock skis including my buddies RXP 215 and RXT260. With the SHO, up to about 60 it was somewhat close (within 2 boat lengths) after 60 the gap widened considerably. The Ultra, once it had "traction" it is game over. I have only lost once and it was to another modded Ultra 150.
