If you dig the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 but prefer a rear-wheel drive version, Lambo’s answered the call with their latest project. Unveiled this week, the Huracan LP580-2 is a rear-wheel drive sports car, boasting the same 5.2-liter V10 used in the LP 610-4. The power’s been tuned down a bit – to 580HP – as has the weight, trimming 73 lbs off the inaugural model.

The main difference here is the shift in weight distribution, adjusted to 40% at the front, and 60% at the rear. This reduces inertia at the front, and gives a little more weight to where all the power is generated.

The LP 580-2 runs a 0-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds slower than the all-wheel drive Huracan, and its top speed is 3mph less, too.

The slight performance drop shouldn’t deter Huracan buyers for this particular model, because it was created for those who want to bring its tail out and around for exciting drives.

The Huracan LP 580-2 is available now at Lamborghini dealerships, starting at roughly $200,000 USD.
