Hello L4P!
At D2Autosport we have introduced a new program for dealerships, and most recently we have teamed up with Mercedez Benz of Huntington in Long Island to make over a brand new mid model CLA 250. The idea is to give it the best bang-for-your-buck modifications that change the cars visual looks dramatically.
We took delivery of the car on Tuesday the 3rd, and it's torn apart and getting ready to go back together this Wednesday, for the "unveiling" event at Mercedes Benz of Huntington this Thursday the 12th from 6-8PM.
Taking delivery.
Off the truck! It's ours now!
Getting taken apart.
Will add more photos as parts are finished being painted and more parts come in! The goal behind this project is to turn the mid-model CLA 250 into a sportier, more unique looking vehicle for the consumer who wants something a little more and different, but the AMG model is too much for their taste or budget.
You are all invited to the event, if you are from Long Island we would love to have you come out! There will be a cocktail hour and plenty of networking! Mercedes Benz of Huntington is a beautiful dealership with a lot to see, including their glass walled car elevator!
Hey everyone!
So our event was last night! It was a great time, and had a crowd of about 50-60 people. The unveiling event photos I will have next week, but here is the completed project.
Staring with the rear, we went with gloss black for the Mercedes badge, finished the rear side of this beautiful spoiler in black, 1 pass of paint over the red section of the tail lights, and 3 passes of paint over the reverse area. Followed up the license plate surround in gloss black, as well as powdercoating the exhaust tips gloss black, and pushing them out a half inch for a more aggressive look.
Moving onto the front, we did the grill insert / emblem shroud in gloss black, but left the front section chrome as well as the badge. Sections of the bumper were finished in gloss black to give the bumper some aggression and depth, the lower section following the lines of the bumper opening, the upper lip of the bumper opening, and the inside of the grill. The headlights were tinted as well.
Mirrors done gloss black.
The last section of the roof was finished gloss black to give it the full panoramic sunroof look.
From the side you can notice the gloss black mesh wheels, done with a machined pinstripe AMG style. The fenders were hit with an AMG style graphic with a white to black gradient, ending at our "D2 Edition" logo. The engine cover we finished in the matching white, and the lower insert in gloss black. And of course we had to tint the windows.
We used the same tire specs as stock, however these tires are a little tall for their size, which helped fill in some of that fender gap so the car at least appears lowered.
I loveee the rear spoiler. What about you?
And there you have it!
What started as a 35K car is now selling for 42K which is a deal for the look, considering the AMG model that was on display was 55K. There were a few in the dealership that were interested in purchasing since they were already there car shopping while we had our event, so it may even be on the road as soon as Monday, who knows!
