The first-ever 2013 SRT Viper has been auctioned off for charity over the past weekend, marking the start of sales for the new supercar. The new offshoot of Chrysler took the high road in putting the premier model under the hammer, raising over $300,000 for charity. In case you may have forgotten, the much-anticipated SRT Viper packs an 8.4-liter V10 good for 640hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Retails for about $135,000

Stupid question: Do you think the purchaser will be able to get any sort of tax relief for his $300k "charitable donation"? At least the difference between the MSRP and the purchase price?

Then that is money well spent!

^Unfortunately, not yet. The only thing I've heard is that prices get released around August/September. Other than that, the track wheels have been shown. Style wise, they are what was used on the ACR Jeep on one lap.

Yup, for sure. These auctions are great. Raise money for a good cause, sell off an awesome car. Win win for everyone. (And more "fun/exciting" than simply donating money.)
