I completed building my first portfolio. It was actually a lot more work and much more costly than I anticipated, but I'm very happy with the results. Click on the pictures below to visit my blog where I go much more in depth on the materials I used, the costs, and the process of making it. I wish I had something like this when I was making my portfolio so if one or two people find it helpful its totally worth it to me. And I just wanted to thank everyone from the L4P fam for all their support. This online community has been one of the biggest game changers for me and I couldn't be more grateful. Enjoy :)

1: notice my matching portfolio stand :p

Top notch presentation! Please keep us posted about what Lambo guys think.
Update: Just got my portfolio back from NYC. Winkelmann & Wolfgang (COO of Automobili Lamborghini), Rene (head or Lamborghini North America), and President of Centigrade Unlimited all had a look at it. And the verdict is . . . I guess they liked it :)

That looks immaculate, incredible work. I'd pay a pretty penny to have that on my coffee table...
That looks great. You should market it and sell a few copies, it would be a great conversation piece on many coffee tables.

Nick
I was thinking about doing this but the cost of the portfolio itself is $300 and I highly doubt anyone would want to pay that insane price for it. I could also do a very limited production of published books 10-15 copies but that'll still end up being $100+ a book. And thats pretty ridiculous too. Not sure what other options I have. But thanks everyone for the awesome response!

What did you use to make the book? Please PM me with details, thanks.

All the details are on my blog (scroll to the bottom) here: http://shirakiphotoblog.com/?p=323
If you have any further questions about specifics like the base portfolio I used or how much/where you can get it wrapped, just let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. Send me a FB message or an email for the quickest response: [email protected]

This, I would love to have a book of your photos on my coffee table
I'm considering doing a limited production run. Should I make a Lamborghini only book? Or include my other shots of ferraris and porsches and what not?

Some really top notch work in there. It is immediately apparent that you have spent an amazing amount of time composing them. Work like this is something that inspires others to attempt to complete comparable personal aspirations.

On a side note- I would have to say that a limited edition run of those books in carbon fiber would sell. You are talking about a niche buyer who is willing to spend up to 450k on a car and much more oftentimes on their garage. Even if it were $500 dollars or so I could see people purchasing a limited run. Might be able to get much more if you gave one to Winkleman if he were to sign another few of them ;)
If I do an actual bound photo book it shouldn't cost more than $150. But for those niche buyers you speak of they usually end up hiring me to do private photoshoots and get massive 20x30's to hang in their office, home or garage haha. And I doubt I could get Winkelmann to sign anything else. Hes notorious for not wanting to autograph things (not because hes snobby, but because he feels hes just a normal guy). In fact he was hesitant about signing the photo because he didn't want to ruin the picture. Hes a really humble guy and I respect that out of such powerful people like him.

IDK if anyone said this but you should start to selling them!
They are ;). Limited production run of 100 and each are signed and numbered

So maybe you'll see some these lambo pics in person soon so it can help you decide which pics u want to put up in your new place ;) haha

Yes, the writeup was really nice and I wish I could personally thank them for the extremely kind words. Maybe an autographed print would suffice ;) I just need to find out their contact info.

Sorry, I never heard or saw a reply... but what kind of camera are you using and what kind of setup?

Thanks, I appreciate any feedback.

Hey Spencer,
I'm currently using a D300S + Nikkor 17-55mm 2.8 lens. No special lights or even a tripod haha. Btw my buddy was looking to pick up a car from you folks and I told him hes making a great decision because the people at symbolic are great

amazing photos, love them. would love to have some larger sized ones on my wall.
If its not available on my website just let me know and I can do custom prints for you up to 20x30"

Jordan that is honestly a collection of the best shots I have ever seen for any photog... AWESOME work!
Thanks for the very kind words. I can assure you that there are many photographers far superior to me in every aspect. But I'm just lucky that my subject matter I'm shooting is better than almost everything else out there. I really can't wait to shoot the LP700 in the spring :D
