so please don't kill me if this has already been done, but i couldn't find it, so figured i'd start it up.

what's the fastest you've ever driven, and in what vehicle? track and street. not to brag, just hey, figured it'd be neat for all of us car nuts to talk about some fun experiences.

mine would be 142 in a 96 LS400, around 12am on a tues driving from boca to miami on i95; had a bit of a slow day out in the sun

I've maxed out pretty much every car and bike I've ever owned except the F430, which I only hit 175 mph in.

My 996 Turbo went an indicated 191 mph, which was the fastest indicated top speed of all my cars.

Top down, fastest is 163 mph in my Wife's CLK63 AMG.

That'll suck your hair straight off. When I met my wife, she was driving a SLK320 and I took that thing to 110 and at that speed, the wind was just violent. I can't imagine 160+ in a vert.

150-155 in an sc300 coming up 35 in Iowa. Bone stock at the time with a little bit of a tail wind.

145 in a porsche 996. I was coming over a hill and got nervous so I backed off.

130-140 in a modified 944.

I drive a buick now and in my 3-4 months of owning it i've only gone over 80 once.

185 in amodded C6 ZO6

175 in a rented Viper in Vegas:

5 of my friends and I went to Vegas for Spring Break Junior year of college and stayed with our buddy's mom in Henderson. We went out one night, and me and my roommate got separated from the boys, stayed at Mandalay with 2 hotties but woke up with 2 grenades. We snuck out of their beds to the realization that our phones were dead and we had no way to get in touch with our boys and even worse, had no idea how to get back to the house. Rather than catch a cab to the neighborhood and hoof it, we decided to rent a car, a Viper GTS no less. We could only rentthe car for 3 hours, so we did the right thing and raced all over suburban Vegas for about 2 hours before deciding to get serious about finding the house. We got lucky and found the place in time to take all our boys on joyrides and make it back to the rental place with 8 minutes to spare. Awesome time, but I never want to get in a Viper again...shit was hot and uncomfortable as hell.
