“Drew’s Run” is a short Rally dedicated to a friend and fellow car enthusiast who died this past year at the age of 24. Drew had a long hard fight with cancer and managed to pull through, but as soon as things starting getting better he found himself in the hospital again. This time he was facing one of the most dangerous procedures in the medical field, a bone marrow transplant. He underwent intense radiation and chemotherapy and was putting up an amazing fight. However the infection was proven to be too strong and on August 9th 2007 Drew found peace, he would have been 25 August 12th. One of the things Drew wanted to do before he passed was to take some good friends and have a small Rally/Cruise. However the drive never happened and as we have Drew in our thoughts and his family in our prayers we do this drive for them. More info on Drew can be found here www.drewspinelli.com

You won't have much, if any chance to drive the Dragon or Cherohala at any speed though, cops are usually everywhere and will jump on anyone, doing anything illegal.

Have fun though, I live about a hour and a half from the dragon. There's definitely lots of gorgeous scenery there.

Thanks but we did it a bunch of times last year with no issues or cops, you can't really drive much over their posted speed on the dragon because a tight turn is soon to follow, as long as you don't cross the yellows you're fine.

Drove the loop on Saturday, during the afternoon. Was stunned to only see one LEO, a THP cruiser parked halfway to Deals Gap on 129. Great drive, no major issues other than my wife getting carsick on the 'Dragon.

yeah last year we did an early morning run around 7am and didn't see one cop until we got further out into NC.

The only problem I have is bikes going too slow in front and not pulling off to the side, but for the most part they move and are nice.

It's always fun, I can't wait.

Early mornings are definitely the time to go. Last trip I made was in the early morning. Didn't see too many LEO's til I was on my way out. They were on un-marked cruiser bikes and had set up everywhere. Maybe they've settled down some though, I hope they have. Hope you guys have a good and safe trip, enjoy this beautiful area I call home.

There's also another awesome road very close to home, I don't see you guys driving out of the way just because of my recommendation, but it's far less populated than the Dragon and is just as good, if not better, of a drive than the Dragon.

Was wondering when you were chimming in ;) deadline is going to be september 16th

I'm flexible though like last time if we get a few late entries I'll get them in, I just don't want everyone registering last minute.
