Just a thought about this news and the boisterous news that the Austin ciruit could be on the f1 schedule for "40 years".

I think as a whole America just doesn't "get it" and will eventually (as past history has proven) f*ck up its relationship with f1. The American marketing and business people who have the resources to make things happen are just too uninformed and arrogant.

All the circuits in F1 have to renew their contracts, and the contracts are always under review. F*cking Monaco does not have a contract longer than 10 years. Texas is not F*cking Monaco.

Danica is a good race car driver. Not great, but good. Putting her in an F1 car is a marketing ploy. She will have a miserably time. Bruno Senna is having a tough time.

I think the spot light is on her (Danica) because she's a woman. There are plenty of worse male race car drivers in the world, but nobody focuses on them.

Simona is doing a great job, and has the potential to keep progressing. Time will tell, but yes, I rate her as a better driver than Danica.

I just don't have any respect for her she was next to us in long beach(my good friend raced Atlantics I did the grafix on the car) when she drove Atlantics, her adittude sucks the way she spoke to the crew sucked. When I see her throw a tizzy on TV it make me laugh she was so much worse when the cameras aren't on her.

I think every sport has their "John McEnroe". However, she is better looking than John, I will give her that.

Good luck to her "if" she makes it into an F1 car but as far as I'm concerned, she'll be out of here league. I don't get to watch F1 often since I don't get any premium cable channels, but what little I caught at my friend house, I think the top tier F1 drivers have reflexes like a Cheetah. It just amazes me how fast these cars go and equally how fast the drivers must react to a constantly changing environment... it's probably a good thing they don't do 500 miles like Indy because I'd think their brains would fry! Forget fast-twitch muscles.... these drivers have hyper-twitch muscles! :D

You guys want to market and sell products affiliated with Danica? I still say, make her a damn porn star - we all win!

Quite frankly, I'm sick of hearing and seeing anything about Danica and racing on television. The only times I pay attention is when I mute the tv and watch her in a bikini on the Go Daddy commercials.

she isnt doing that well in either indy or nascar. shes just an average driver on good teams.

but f1 really lost their chance to grow here after the indy incident, that with people not really caring much about they "f1 crowd" makes it a tough sell here in america. nascar/indy/alms/grand am/etc all seems to have found a niche group to stand behind them. f1 would have to steal from one of those groups and i just dont see it happening.

I can't see Danica even being remotely on the pace in F1, I liked her when she was in her early days, I even got to run a couple kart races with her. However in this day and age she just doesn't have what it takes. As people have said, sadly, she's a marketing toy for companies. I think that has even hurt her head in racing because she actually use to have quite a bit of potential.

I'd LIKE to see her do good, I'm not bashing her, but she's slacking.

I disagree, F1 is liked by fans in all series it seems. Indy is a crap place to run F1. If F1 finds the right place in the US it would be a success, Austin is a cool town. Even in the small town of Athens there is a MASSIVE F1 following, these people also follow most other road racing series as well.

You talk about being off pace....watching those green Lotus cars getted lapped race after race, and in some cases pull over to the shoulder to pass, what a joke...

Hey at least she will have company in the back of the pack...
