Morning Folks!

I've always been somewhat of a keyboard racer in as much as I love cars and talking about them on forums, but I never actually competed. While I was in Europe, my friend and I entered Rally Pardubice which is a sanctioned event of the Central European Rally Championship.

We weren't expecting too much as the Impreza is giving up substantial power to the series-leading EVOs, we're on a stock transmission compared to the dog boxes and lastly, haha, we've never driven in a rally before so it was my first time reading stage notes (in Czech none the less).

Anyhow, we didn't wreck and we finished 9th overall out of 97 entries and 7th in our class! Needless to say, we are both pretty stoked and I cannot encourage all of you enough to try rallying if you ever have the opportunity - it's an incredible adrenalin rush!

They messed up my name, but I could care less compared to how freaking awesome this was.
:)

Wow! Awesome and congrats!

9th out of 97 entries and 7th in class is an excellent result. Time to build your SCCA sanctioned rally car.
Thank you so much Tony, I appreciate it! And believe me when I say I'm very tempted to do just that. Though, as much as I struggle to admit it (especially given my user name), I think the best bet would be to start with a base model Impreza and focus on car control before I play with big power.

Very very cool

Come see me when you're ready to improve your car control, I'd be happy to help someone who's going about it the right way.

Congrats on the strong finish. Looks like a lot of fun.

Nick

That's very nice of you, many thanks! Enlightening to see some of the guys with more powerful cars (a 600hp GT-R) finishing far behind us. Power is nothing without control!
:eek:hwell:

this is beyond cool! Thanks for sharing. :) I hope to do a rally in Europe some day..:whistle::whistle:
If you learn some basic Czech commands and can read while going sideways through hairpin turns, I can make it happen.
:D

Congrats on the great finish, I can only imagine how stoked you are.
Thank you so much, I am certain all of you would find it just as exciting as I did.
;)

sweet good effort! Congrats :D
Many thanks, I appreciate it!
